Check out a group from Sweden called "In Flames" for when your trippin....It's kind of progressive black metal....Really lovely melodies and guitar work....Nice dark atmospheric music.

Cool, I'll check them out. I just recently started listening to some Scandinavian metal and I am really impressed. Opeth is amazing, they sound kind of similar.

My boyfriend loves In Flames. I'm not a big metal fan but In Flames is very listenable. I like how the mix 70's progressive ideals with a sort of retro 80's metal sound with nice big melodic riffs, with more recent sounding, darker, heavier overtones.. if that made any sense. Their Depeche Mode cover is pretty cute, also. :) I like their instrumentals the best though, I usually find the lyrics to alot of metal songs are a bit too silly.

ive listened to death metal thru an entire trip before, that was jokes it was european, i couldnt understand a thing but they sure could scream.

Yeah i am familiar with In Flames. I would have to say colony is my fav. cd from them. i never listened to them whilst tripping, although i will give it the good ol fashion try next time i am tripping (that is one thing that sux about tripping, so much music so little time:(). But i did listen to Cannibal Corpse on mushrooms and dear god, nothing ever tweeked me out like that before on mushrooms. SO unbarrable i couldnt even listen to one song. NO offense to C.C. i enjoy listening to them when i ever i get that cut-off-someones head feeling. but i guess you could just say they arent ment to be listened to while trippin.

YES!!!!! Opeth and In Flames kick ass while tripping. Especially the former :). Children of Bodom too. Euro-metal is the shit, heh.

Yes, In Flames are great - especially "Swim" from the album "Clayman"... a superb, complex & very fast sound...
