Cobweb?

hey guys just wondering if there is anyone with experience with the dreaded cobweb mold. I have 12 cakes all fruiting quite nicely but they all have a white fuzz about 1-2 mm's thick at the base of all the little guys and some of them even have crept up to just under the cap, the fuzz isnt really on the cakes so much as it is the shrooms. Is this the normal white fuzz that forms at the base that just has grown higher because this flush seems to be producing larger body's with thicker bases or is it the dreaded cobweb mold. any thought will help.

yea sorry no camera :S but the humidity is pretty high and it looks like the normal stuff that forms on the base but some parts of it looks like small hairs and not so much fuzz, anyone ever have the fluff climb just about to the cap before?

it doesnt look like the cake that is obviously molded but it looks a lot like the fruiting cake in the picture, around the base of the shroom growing into the perlite you can see that fuzzy base except on mine it isnt staying at the base and some part look more hairy, does cobweb have any distinct odor or not cuz they smell like perfectly good little buddys. thanx for the help.

No odor, just has a gray color.
If it looks like the fruiting cake, you are in good shape my friend. Your RH is just high
No worries!

if you are growing pans or an exotic strain, there is a cobweb-like mecy that grows before the strong white messy somtimes. But ive had the cobweb mold before. I just ignored the casing it was growing on and payed attention to my other casings, and you know what. i finally checked the casing that had the cobweb mold on it weeks later and the Mecy had overgrown it and there was no sign of anymore mold anywhere on the casing.

it doesn't sound like you have cobweb mold.
sometimes when the humidity is super high you will get fuzzy growth on your mushrooms...or the mycelium on the cake will riz out all over the place.
very healthy...notice the hairs on the stem of the mushroom.

---
this is what you don't want :
Cobweb mold will grow like mad and become very obvious. Cobweb is darker than cubensis mycelium... more of a grey than a white. Once you have seen cobweb mold...it is very easy to tell the difference. Regular cubensis mycelium can look an awful lot like cobweb until you know what to look for.
Here is a picture of cobweb mold.
