Forgive me if this has been discussed before. I couldn't find where it had been. There's a HST documentary being shown in Denver on November 12th called "Remembering Hunter: When I Die". Perhaps you're in a position to be able to see it.
Quote:
Remembering Hunter: When I Die USA 2005,
His command over the world of literature, politics, and journalism were legendary; his tactics outlandish and explosive. Few forces in modern culture can claim the monstrous tidal wave that was Hunter S. Thompson. This year, SDIFF pays tribute to the recently deceased Gonzo warrior with a special program held at the historic Denver Press Club. Featured will be the world premiere of a new film by award-winning filmmaker Wayne Ewing (who directed the acclaimed documentary Breakfast With Hunter (screened at SDIFF 26.) His new work, When I Die, is a profile of the creation of the outlandish Gonzo Monument and the blast off of Thompson's ashes into the heavens. Filmmaker Tom Thurman (Sam Peckinpah's West and John Ford Goes to War) will also present celebrity interview clips from his upcoming Starz original documentary Buy the Ticket, Take the Ride which focuses on Thompson's longstanding ties with a myriad of cultural celebrities including many of the Hollywood elite.
Following the screenings, a panel of Thompson's close friends and associates will share stories and remembrances. Featured speakers will include Pitkin County Sheriff Bob Braudis, founding publisher of the Mountain Gazette Curtis Robinson, Woody Creek artist Michael Cleverly, Steve Cohn and Jon Equis who produced the Gonzo Monument and Memorial, and director Wayne Ewing. Of course, in this SDIFF homage to a great American icon, alcohol and antics will be served.
At the Denver Press Club, 1330 Glenarm Pace. To order tickets, click on the date of the screening (below), that you wish to attend. Screening Schedule Date Time Venue Tickets Sat, Nov 12 05:00 PM Denver Press Club Film Mem $15.00 Denver Press Club General Admission $15.00 Denver Press Club General Admission $15.00

I live about 10-15 minutes away. And November 12th is my birthday. Might have to treat myself to this.
