hi people! my wookie friend has been hunting shrooms last weekend and he couldnt avoid picking some cow dung from where his shrooms were growing... at home, he has crumbled and put into pint jars with some (unsterilized) verm on top to absorb excess of humidity... it has begun re-growing... he notices most of the dung isnt colonized yet, some _stringy_ growth is seen all around... the problem is... this shit is getting hot... is it a problem? he has noticed that his cambos cakes are hot too... whats going on??? thanks alredy.

nice name
i think its de-composing as a result of the bacteria(good bacteria). but shit...i really dont know, its just a thought

hi! im felixhigh! you seem to be my twin from another dimension or something like... nice name too. you look nice too. just like me! yeah, i think its due to bacterial activity, i HOPE they're the good ones...
im just kinda worried about some PF jars i have that are hot... they're cambos and they took no less than 3 weeks to germinate but they're growing steady now. my wookie friend just wonders if he should allow it to colonize or discard the uncolonized areas since they seem to be composting now...

I live in Northern Thailand. The men that keep the elephants are known to sell magic mushrooms that grow from the elephant dung. Two people who know a lot about mushrooms told me that the elephants eat plant material that has spores on it and then the spores propagate in their intestinal tract and then everything gets pooped out. I went and got a bunch of fresh dung and I lightly water it every day. Supposed to take about two weeks to see anything, IF there are spores in the first place. I am wondering how the mushrooms grow on the dung without getting killed off by bacteria etc. When you grow at home everything being sterilized seems to be so important. Anyone with ideas? Anyway.. I have at least another 9 days to wait. Hoping for the best!
