rice cake fragments in substrate?

I have some unsalted rice cakes and I was wondering if there would be any benefit in mixing them in with brown rice flour and vermiculite in the jar. I was thinking it might give the mycelium more air or room to grow inside the cake. I have a pressure cooker, so I don't think sterility would be a problem. Would this be a waste of time? I don't really want to eat them, I have salted ones to eat.

As far as nutriton, rice cakes have about as much as a towel....
