okay here are some more pics i know all of yoyu love so much...the landscapers in my apt complex are constantly fucking up this patch...my plan: buy some alder chips from ace hardware...im going to go to the patch in the middle of the night and dig it out maybe a foot deep into the ground and replant it somewhere safe...any suggestions on doing this successfully?

There are a couple of ways to transplant the mycelium.
The easiest, and I think more common way of doing it is to soak alder chips and make a nice deep bed for them and cover with leafs. You mix in the already colonized alder chips in the damp bed.
Another method is actually transplanting the mycelium to sterlized alder chips within an oven bag or canning jar. Incubating the jar for a while and then using that as spawn for alder chips for the following year.
I haven't done either, but, I will be starting my own cyan patch this comming spring.

I donno
I think it would be better to get some hardwood chips from home depot or whatever, soak them for a few days, drain them and make a bed. Then mix in your already colonized chips from the orignial bed.
You'll then want to keep it covered with some leafs!

If you prepare a bed of adler chips in advance I think you could just take a small sample of mycelium, or a few wood chips, and transplant that to your prepared bed. Digging a hole at your complex could get you evicted.

dig up DE patch "carefully"!! take a few well colonized wood-chips out and put aside. dig a shallow hole, fill with water, after the water soaks in "carefully" put the patch into the shallow hole. cover lightly with fallen leaves, soak again. keep it damp till they pop up.
Now take the few chips you have aside and get some more non-colonized chips. put 10x the amount of non-colonized chips than colonized chips into a plastic grocery bag, then spray down with water until wet(i use h2o2 mix). twist the bag closed forcing out all the air, then incubate in your closet(room temp), checking once weekly to rehydrate. This process is SLOW, after one month of doing this id say I have around 200% more myc-covered chips then when I started.

after complete colonization of the chips you can dig a shallow hole, fill with water, after the water soaks in put the myc-covered chips into the shallow hole. cover lightly with fallen leaves, soak again. keep it damp till they pop up.(from what Ive read, the bed prep usually is done during the spring/summer months, however using his method I believe after you have the chips ready, you could make the bed, be it mid season or just before.) My plan is to put my baby outside here soon so that I can get at least one good flush before the season's end, then ill probably put her in my fridge(i still haven't solved my lighting situation though).

On a side note to the grocery bag colonization method... would these colonized chips be considered "illicit"? In other words, should I feel strange about driving a very long distance with a bag of colonized substrate that could produce scheduled compounds upon fruiting?

No wonder your process is slow, there's no air exchange!

mycelium thrives in CO2 environments, thats why i force the air out. yeah I know its kinda of a "neglect tek"

If thats the case why are filter patches, polyfill, micropore tape etc used on spawn bags and jars???

well you want co2 to build up or we would have everything in bags made just of filters. Do a little research and find out how many parts per million of CO2 you want for spawning as compared to fruiting(there is a substantial difference)
