LSD never did that. Ergot poisoning was caused by chemicals in ergot, but not the chemical that is the precurser to LSD. I forget the exact name of it, but it's posted here somewhere. Anyway, LSD is one of the safest drugs known to man so......and synthetic doesn't mean it's not as good as a natural drug, and it's only semi-synthetic anyway. I've drawn from all my experiences with various psychedelics that they all do the same thing, but at different levels of conciousness, in my experience, LSD works at the highest level of conciousness, it is absolutely divine. As chinacat72 said in the crystal to blotter thread, LSD is a gift from above to save the world, anyway that's my 2 cents, peace.

You bumped a year old post.
What do you mean by function? The answer you're looking for is probably exactly how you felt on mushrooms.

Being able to function depends on the dose, the drug, and where you are in the trip.
I find that mushrooms tend to have a more 'confusing high' at a higher dose, and comes in cycles of being out of it, and being fine. In terms of having to 'function' - talk/socalize/walk around - sure? but be able to solve my accounting homework questions or read? fawk no.
LSD, during the initial peak, is very manic for me and I find it hard to 'function', and typically spend that time spaced out on my bed rolling around/laughing and having a good time.
Once the peak wears off and you start to come down, I find it to be a much more clear headed/lucid high and more 'functionable'. I can walk around, converse, talk, goto the store, etc, and feel fine.
then again, that also all depends on the dose. On 1 hit of LSD, I was far more able-bodied then my boyfriend who wasnt on LSD, but had had a few drinks. However, on 6 hits of acids I did last weekend, I didnt trust myself to go outside of my appartment untill about 6 hours into the trip.
