pressure cooker?

i was woundering if i really need a pressure cooker, ya see i'm going to try the rice method and it says that i should use a pressure cooker but i'm not sure this is the "easiest method".if anyone knows an easier/cheaper method to use just hook me up if ya can, peace.

In my opinion,pressure cooking is the best method. However, you can put your jars into a large covered pot of boiling water for about 45 minutes. I've done both methods and had contamination with both. If you are thinking about getting serious with the hobby, I would put some thought into investing in a pressure cooker.

Do you mean whole rice or rice flour? If you are using flour then you can be ok w/ just a boiling pot of water, but if you are using whole grain rice then you HAVE to get a PC.

I have had equal success with the boiling pot of water and the pressure cooker. I say if you want a lot of shrooms that you will eventually have to get a large cooker.
