1. There were a few others of these on some nearby trees but not many.
2. There were a lot of these ones spotted around the area. (as you can see there are some in the background).
3. I found these next to a mass of another type of fungus (which i suspect to be sulphur tuft fungus)...

... So I did wonder if this was the same mushroom but in a different stage of development?

There are actually two different species on this picture.. the black blob in the background was all over the rotting wood and i have been told the name of this fungus (though have completely forgotten) But the little slimy one in the foreground was by itself and I couldn't see any others like it nearby. It was also very small..

I hope this helps to identify?.. if no one has a clue.. then don't worry.. BTW.. don't worry about the identification being too accurate.. I definitely don't plan to eat any of them!.. would just like them to be accurate for the stock photography site!

Pic 1 is A birch polypore called the razor strop fungus (Piptoporus betulinus.) In Victorian times members of the poorer families used the fungus to sharpen their open shaving-razors instead of using a leather strip.

Pics 2 and 3 are sulphur tufts (Hypholoma fasiculare)

Pic 5 is a type of mycena

I'm unsure what pic 4 is. It would help if you could take a spore print.
