I fear an abuse of power. What happened to Shroomerism's Constitution thread? It magically dissappeared after I took a good part of my day reading it and writing a rebuttal. This seriously pisses me off. The point of moderation is not to erase something when you have been proven wrong, that is an act of immaturity and selfishness. You destroyed my work and I find that very offensive. Because of your moderatorship you should be even more responcible than the rest of us or you dont deserve that responcibility. I now seriously doubt your ability to be a fair and just moderator. I'm reporting this to the admins, Good day.

I did delete the thread. I felt the material to be much too controversial and regretted ever posting it in the first place seeing as to all the fighting that has been going on in here lately over differences in opinion. It seemed the best way to avoid another flame war was to delete it. It was in fact my thread.
I didn't think someone would get upset over it..if you feel like you have proven me wrong then great, but that's not why I deleted it. I'm trying to avoid another endless battle of people calling each other names and whatnot. I regretted even posting that in the first place due to its controversial nature and I wish I would have done it sooner. Sorry if you feel cheated, that was certainly not my intention. The piece needs much work, so after we edit it I will post it again and you can tell me how wrong I am

The point of this forum in my understanding is to put forth ideas and allow people to debate over them. I saw no threat of there being an flame war then any other post. In fact, if this your true motivation, which i have high reason to doubt, there are 2 problems with this. First, you didn't LOCK the post, you ERASED IT. If you truly feared anything less than a loss of face on your own part you would have locked it. Two being that there are plenty of other posts that are more dangerously close to becoming flame threads, and plenty that already are or have been in the past. Your justification is a joke.

Shroomism is a new moderator, he made a mistake and we've discussed this in the moderator forum.
We are all human, so please let this go and move on since its over and done with...
We do not allow deleting of threads, Shroomism now knows this and we can all live happily ever after, err or something of the sort.

Why am I not surprised to find that Shroomism not only locked, but DELETED a thread after his wave of bullshit crashed up on the shore.....
That is just too funny.
Let me get this straight too, Shroomism said, and this is a paraphrase but nearly verbatim, "I deleted the thread because it was too controversial" - if THAT was the criterion, Shroomism would never post again except answering newbies' questions in the mushroom cult board, because nearly every word he posts is suspect.
Just my two cents, I am sure the fellow cult members will flame me for expressing it.

I liked that Constitution idea. I'd like to hear your revision when you get around to it.
Besides, it was his post. He can delete it if he wants, even if he wasn't a moderator.

That is not correct. He didn't just delete his post, which anyone can do and nobody would have a real right to object to - he deleted the whole damn thread. This is something that ONLY a moderator can do, and it's something that is so blatantly wrong it's ridiculous.
His quoted reason for doing it is even more laughable - "it was too controversial". Like I said, every single Shroomism thread, and nearly every post, is controversial, in fact very strongly so. Why did he choose to delete only this thread in which this other poster had spent so much time refuting?
I guess that's the question everyone must ask themselves.

I made a mistake, if that makes me an asshole then so be it. I'm sorry. I do not wish any hostility between any of us.
For what it's worth, I deleted three of my threads, not just that one. Perhaps it was a rash decision, one that I wont make again.

I just recently returned to the shroomery, and whats this people arguing like immature children still.

Listen to his wisdom, I dont even know what your all arguing about but I can gaurantee you that it is trivial at best.
I think every newbie whether a real newbie or just a newbie to a certain area should be allowed leaway. I mean come on people, cant you remember when you first signed on here and the stupid shit you used to say and do, I certainly made a fool out of myself once or twice(I have the maturity to admit it). Im not saying thats what he did either, because I dont know what he did.
SHROOMISM, I welcome you as a moderator. good luck in future dealings with these sometime childlike members.

If you dont know what we're talking about, how can you say its trivial? he erased a fucking thread after I spent ~hour writing a rebuttle. It was clear (to me anyway) there was no motivation other than his own embarrassment to erase the thread. Thats wrong and insulting, not trivial. If anything, that is a childish act, as is your passing of judgement while admittedly being uneducated in the matter at hand. You too, sir, are a moron.
