Haha I don't know too much about the Olympia shrooming, but the beer tastes like water. In fact, I think that is Olympia's slogan..."It's the water."

Good luck, anyways. Look in the tree lines.

some dude once told me there were shrooms in western washington :smirk:

no one really needs to be any more specific than that.  you have eyes and legs I assume...  so figure out what kind of places the mushrooms you're looking for grow and go look ...

In an area as urban as Olympia, you should probably try hunting for Cyanescens. Go check your local parks and what not. Cyanescens aren't the easiest to identify, so do your research before you put it in your belly.

You're probably not looking in the right type of areas. For cyanescens, hardwood chips are prime hunting grounds. Especially alder chips. You'll never find them in bark mulch, or other softwoods. Cyans are probably your best bet if you're in Olympia.

I saw someone post "light colored" and even "white chips" to the extent that alot of the alder chip beds are older and have just begun to natually grow a strong mycelial network, from the spores up.

They often turn a dark and light grey.
