I've had a few, but I've never TRIED to have them. During a few of those dreams, I had considerable control over the "storyline" and what happened. It was weird. I've heard that getting into a routine of writing down your dreams immediately after you wakeup can make for better dreams. A philosopher teacher of mine did this and told me that the dreams became more "real" as he progressed. I haven't done this, but hey, why not?

You know, it's funny, but drugs actually help me have lucid dreams. Sleeping pills mainly. Like, sometimes I'll take a few OTC sleeping pill, stay up for a long time, then when I finally pass out, I'll have all sorts of crazy dreams, mostly lucid. It doesn't work all the time, but it's worth a try. Also alcohol and opiates are good for dreaming.

Keep a pen and pad of paper beside your bed and record every dream you can remember right when you wake up. Make it a habit. This will help your dreams become more vivid and more easy to remember. Another thing that will help is to go about your day normally, but every 10 minutes ask yourself... "am I dreaming?" keep doing this until you go to sleep...then in your dream you will ask yourself "am I dreaming?" and the answer will be yes. Then take control. Those are the two best ways I know of to promote lucid dreams. Just get inventive... try to mess around with your dreams.

Exactly. Shroomism hit it on the nose. The key to controlling one's dreams is conditioning. If you make it a habit to ask yourself if you are dreaming, your brain will adjust. Soon enough you will be so used to it that you will get bored with controlling your dreams and beg your brain to let you go back to the profoundly spiritual experience of letting them run their natural course. Psychology is a favorite subject in my life. :)

RedFlux: I'd highly suggest that you read "the Art of Dreaming" by Carlos Castaneda. If you want to find out about dreaming, this is the book. It details levels of dreaming, how to successfully maintain consciousness in your dreams and all of the rest. If anyone has read castaneda books and would care to discuss them further, reply to this post. ~Thanks!!

When you note your dreams your having, if theres anything in the dreams that pops up a lot, say you keep seeing a mate, every time you see them in life ask yourself if your dreaming, then itl happen in the dream. Every time i manged to do it, id always wake up.
