ok i cant find the thread now, but there was a discussion about
vendors using cheesy movies to market salvia divinorum as a party drug
and at one point i made the remark that if this is a concious effort to create nagative association with s. divinorum in the public mind
then there would be clone sites showing up with those same movies...
well im not sure as i cant find the topic now, but i think this is a completely different site:

So to cut to the chase,those people (and in the link you give) simply WONT listen unless their money or their ass is on the stake (Threatening ass and money ,is one of the most ancient and most effective way of convincing people since they rarely listen to logic if they have nothing to loose). One COULD try with emails ,but if they suddenly have a change of heart and "see the clear white light" on why their behaviour can cause trouble to salvia one would be left to wonder why they havent thought it up from the start and YOU or WE or SOMEONE had to remind them.
So ,some paths would be
a)To drop them an email
b)if they dont listen simply advice against purchaces from them
c) whatever you do stock up on plants. Planet Earth has an unlimited supply of Bozos and they are the most certain guarantee that many legal plants will end up illegal. There are no boundaries to human stupidity,so each one would have to act on his own ,for the salvation of such plants in his apartment or garden.
By the way ,watching those videos surely shows the meaning it had for people that used them religiously.One can see the powerfull,amazing insights those people receive,one could see the selfpsychoanalytical processes they go through and how beneficial they are.Their videos is top class material,showing exactly why salvia should stay legal. From the videos it seems so usefull,such a tool for personal growth,psychoanalysis ,or spirituality of any sort!
(The above paragraph is OFCOURSE ironic.What we see in those videos is the Pop Drug Culture that so many people are proud to be members of and bash those who object)

Yeah, screw those guys. That kind of shit is the reason LSD, shrooms, peyote, etc., are all illegal...not because they're really all that bad for you, but because of stupid people who will do anything they can to make a buck...greedy assholes, they are. Salvia is going to be illegal soon, mark my words.

this is not about salvia, this is about us.
im wondering how it is that 2 vendors can use the same movies to advertise their product, wouldnt they normaly keep it to themselves in order to compete with eachother?
wouldent the guy who made these movies have tried to find actors
who dont look like total fucking heroin junkies??
the more i think about it the more my gut tells me that the videos at least were not made by any vendor...

Judging by the reply you got from Salviasupply (a rather disgusting reply that can be summed up in "Hey im just a snowflake in the avalanche ,im not responsible for it" plus "you are intertested for drugs hence im making you a favor by selling it") i think that not many things can be done with this idiots.
(Idiot: In ancient Greece it was a phrase of Uttmost disrepsect meaning "the one who only cares about himself and his possesions).
Since idiocy cannot be stopped ,and they will continue selling their products in this manner, then the choice falls to our hands. Stock up on salvia PLANTS ,not extracts. And let em sleep nicely at nights when salvia becomes illegal ,truthfully and with all their heart believing that the did nothing bad,the just "went with the market flow".

I suggest to take for granded that those people will listen to nothing,expept if goverment forces them by banning this plant.
I suggest bying live plants and NOT silly extracts,multiplying them and giving them to friends.Also i suggest if not helping this plant to stay legal,please think of all actions taken concernign this plant so you dont hasten its illegality. Thats the "rule" of : "If you dont wanna/cant help ,dont make things worse".This includes not making videos of people under the influence,well unless you consider seeing a person in fetal position mumbling incoherent stuff indicative and informative of the salvia state ,a "Must See".
Since their unethical bussiness practices are out of our reach,and the law is just searching for a banning excuse,lets make sure this plant survives.

Maybe a good step would be to have a list that tells good and bad vendors? If I wanted to buy salvia online I'd have no idea from who to buy it from. Maybe a thread like that already exists though (I admit I haven't performed a search).
But I agree that we need to make people know wich vendors are bad.

I think you all are missing the bigger point. Being when the time comes that Salvia can be declared a controlled or an illegal substance then a very LARGE DOOR will be opened for the FDA/DEA. When the FEDS start controlling plants because of the alkaloids that can be extracted or increased in strength then everything is in danger from Amanita's to Trichocereus. Along with violating our 1st Amendment rights. You all should know that the use of these plants are protected for religious use.

If you wanna really go after this vendor then we send them a thousand or so e-mails telling them "WE ARE THEIR CUSTOMERS" and "We will not be doing any business with their companies until they change their policies"
Hit em where they hurt, if they're greedy enough they will most certainly consider their advertising practices when a thousand or more people aren't doing business with them. We got the numbers right here. All we gotta do is GET TOGETHER. My personal opinion is most people don't wanna come outta the closet and admit they use these plants. Do that and who know's what could be accomplished?

mmm good points, but im afraid this is the beginning of a trend...
i think its not the problem that we have 2 irresponsible vendors,
we have lots of those.
but i think we are dealing with the momentum of salvia's popularity
coming to the point of becoming atractive to the wrong people
and we will see these kinds of sites pop up all over the place...
good point on the religious aspect, we should aproach these churches at one point...

If these assholes are going to use salvia and other entheogens irresponsibly , then maybe this should become illegal. I DO NOT WANT THIS TO HAPPEN. I came through the 60's thinking pot laws would be abolished long ago. Just imagine if your local action news type hacks pick up on this. they will start a crusade to outlaw everything we have now to save the "children". Fuck the children.They should not use these entheogens any more than alcohol or tobacco. Every god dam law now uses the excuse of"what about the children?". What about us adults? yeah thats pretty much the top concern there.
but also a great oppertunity.
if we as a community can selfpolice this shit up
and create some kind of system that protects the kids
and uninformed wile leaving us our freedom we can not only beat
the powerst that be to it and rob then of the excuse to screw us over
and at the same time show the world that we are complete human beings with a social concience etc.
