Spirituality and Aliens?

I tought this forum is for spirituality and philosophy, why are most of the topics about aliens, crop circles and so on.
I don't see how they both relate.

personally, the alien things don't float my boat either. but it does fit in this topic. spiriuality and philosophy, generally, deal with the nature of the state of our existance on this planet, in this universe. visit more often.

I think the issue is that if humans are alone in the universe then our uniqueness makes us very special. We are the "dominant" species, and the only "spiritual" one. If there are other intelligent forms of life in the universe then we are not unique and perhaps this takes away from our spirituality. Perhaps more intelligent lifeforms are more advanced in their spiritual beings. Naturally, these issues lead to the topic of what would the other lifeforms be like.

I know Christian theology took a change when the possibility of life on other planets became real.

Actually, the bible does refer to the heavens and earth both being inhabited by a multitude of souls.
