Hey, I don't like that, your dog looks meaner than mine. I must have got on your nerves...you went and got a bigger dog...

"But yeah it does bug me this whole parents are sacred thing."
I never said that...I said familly is sacred. From the beginning of time it is the familly and tribe that are supposed to provide support and watch out for each other's ass. It don't always work that way these days when society has tried it's best to destroy the familly unit. Corporate America has used it's influence in society to minimize the familly's importance. A depersonalized work force is more willing to put the company first.

Well here we agree. And, This is my dog Frankie, say hello! 1/3 chow 1/3 german shepard 1/3 golden retreiver is my best guess. My last dog Ki was the same mix. He had more of a German Shepard body.

In Tarot, "The Fool" represents the state of fearlessness & also "beginner's mind."

Wait, fearlessness...? Like taking risks like that guy is going to jump off the rock into space? There is no gravity, hardly fearless in my opinion.

two kinds of dependancy.
i imagine most of the dying men calling out to their mothers, were calling out for comfort.
what if, many of the dying men were calling out to unloving, unsupportive mothers? "mother...?" the strangely persistent faith that mother will be there, despite all the facts. a final unmet demand for support. a truly sad image IMO. certainly these men were 'dependant' on their mothers in the way icelander criticizes.
yet, in a different sense of the word "dependant"- i imagine that the man calling out to the unloving mother is the man who was never able to be dependant on his mother, in the first place.
IOW, i think psychological weakness is going to happen when a person goes through life with certain of their needs unmet.

Just an idea: I am thinking about the 'spiritual' parents... If somebody cries out for 'mother' at death, perhaps he is really crying for the comforting spirit morther, perhaps earth itself, which will take him into her arms...so soon, back again...

This is not impossible. At death we may become all that we are beyond the personality structure. Yet that structure still holds sway as long as there is physical life and breath.

there's that magic number 18 again. When I was 18, I feel like I was 14 in my mind. When I turned 25, I felt like I was 125. Who knows what I'll feel like at 125? I believe our parents are responsibilities, threads that hang on us but ones that we can be nurtured by.

My parents can piss off. I will only keep in touch with them for my mother's own sanity. But if it weren't for that, I will/would move out without a single obligation to a single fucking soul.

You are speaking a contradiction. If they can piss off then you need not defend her sanity. As if you could. She is in charge of her own mind, not you. This is the trap I am talking about and you have fallen into it.
