I have a few shrooms that were grown out of a contaminated casing, the shrooms themselves look completely healthy, what would happen if I ate them?

you could get sick, as a precaution i'd just toss them. Grow another batch its rather quick/easy

Yeah, i don't know much about growing but those shrooms don't look very safe. i could be wrong but i would agree with that last guy, just to be safe.

It could happen that you trip and seem to be OK but that you'll get cancer because of it in 2020.
Many molds contain carcinogens (aflatoxins are notorious) and fungi are known to accumulate all sorts of toxins.
Patience young Padawan. Take sporeprints off the infected mushrooms and grow uncontammed ones from those.

Erm... Are you sure the casing is contaminated? Do you have a picture of this "blue mold?"

i dont see any mold....
looks like mycelium to me....
maybe you should ask the cultivation or contamination forum

those casings look good. this thread would be better off on cultivation or contam forum. maybe repost it there for better feedback.

It doesn't look bad but you can't really tell in those pics.
Perhaps a close up of the area in question would reveal more answers, also once you get the closeups put them up in the contam area and you'll get a better response from the older members.

myc turns blue. Patches of hard shroom like myc. growth are very potent in my experiences.
Though in those pics, they look like some very confused shrooms. Atrophy is key.
Those unhealthy looking bastards are certainly very potent.
It is so weird though to see so many potential aborts and non-spore producing shrooms.

those are just babies...
did you touch the mycelium in the area of question???
it will bruise just like a mushroom...
and as far as i know blue isnt really a color to worry about, green and black, on the other hand, youd better go ask the cultivators just to be sure though

They do look like babies though, but not healthy ones.
Just because they look more like something other than cubs.- - - thin stem, with unhealthy looking caps per lenghth.

there are carcinogens, but oxygen is an awful carcinogen and we all die eventually. Food poisoning is what to expect, 2020 is a long way off and to think that some shrooms from 15 years ago gave me cancer would be a little sketchy.

I think those mushrooms look just fine, stemmer. From the looks of them, I'll be they got really big too.

Those pictures are his signature. The blue coloration he's talking
about probably appeared after he took the pictures.
Anyways, what these guys are trying to say is that psilocybe cubensis
develops blue bruises wherever it's disturbed (touched, poked,
molested, bitten) and so "blue mold" is a common complaint among
first-time growers. What can you tell us about the mold? Did it
have a distinctive smell? Did it appear after you touched or bumped
the substrate? We want to know about things like that.

You wouldnt think of those mushrooms, no. But you'll still have the cancer which youd not have had if you didnt eat those particular contams.

Is getting a kick now worth cutting your life short by decades? Most people who stop and think about that feel it's not worth it.
Go to the Physical & Mental Well-Being forum and read the thread Mycotoxicosis , about how contams ruined a member's health. Fortunately his symptoms have now cleared.
