Could it be envy that you disguise as elitism?

Thinking of yourself as better than someone kind of defeats it in my opinion. I do not see a need for this competitive spirit. You think you are better because you don't need the spoiler, and the fast/furious fag thinks he's better because he has it. Neither are truly better. Both are attempting to boost morale that is lacking for one reason or another. Be comfortable with who you are, and don't worry about the rest.

This is great advice. However, at least in the case of the spoiler, I am sure that it is not envy. In no way would I want to put something so ridiculous and with so little purpose on my car, only so other shallow people can acknowledge it. With other examples, I could see how that's possible. I'll keep it in mind.

pschaw!  and jumping out the way of a oncoming truck makes me a slave.

Exactly, it does make you a slave; I don't see why your eye rolling emoticon was used. :smirk:

Fear will limit your consciousness, your presence in life, you know? It seperates one from one's environment, one's resources. It focuses your mind on specific threats, real or imagined, and your thought processes narrow down and become less flexible. Your experience and your decision-making process become dwarfed by automatic, preprogrammed instructions and negative sensations.

A conscious, aware being who will not allow their mind and their experience to become sabotaged by limited, primitive emotions utilized to create our reactions. Every time you cook with your oven, are you overcome with fear, since there is an abundance of fire that threatens your life? Is that experience of fear necessary in order to choose to act to not let your hand slip? Instead of impairing your ability to act in the most beneficial manner for yourself in such a situation by going down a constricting, unpleasant, dimming nose-dive, can't one simply immerse themselves within the Zen and jump?

I just tackled the kitchen that has been sorely neglected for... months, probably. Marijuana played its part well in that.

My biggest roadblock in life generally is my dependanace to my family. Its not materialistic, (i earn more then my parents). Its a sencse of duty towards them, I know that they would like me to be close to them (physically, doing things together) and since I dont want to make them to be sad I do it.
hope it makes sense

The parent trap. It's a nasty one. Run for your life. Literally

I know how you feel, Ive been the same way. I feel guilty when I dont give my parents the time I feel they deserve.

Do you sense their unhappieness from not being available? If so, my best advice would be to let them know how valuable they are to you.

I know my parents aren't so much concerned about me spending a lack of time with them, they just really like to know that they've done a good job raising me. And I think letting them know they've done so is worth more than all the time you can spend with them.
