birthing jars early
    #4873042 - 10/30/05 10:10 PM (18 years, 4 months ago)

I birthed two jars about a week ago and they havent pinned yet. I think i might have birthed them too early, the outside was completely colonized for about 3 or 4 days before i birthed them. Do you think thats the reason? While i still get flushes off of those cakes?

be patient. check your growth parameters. Maybe dunk them. Fan more.

Do you see knotting? If so, pins will come soon.

i seea little bit of knotting. My growth parameters i'm assuming are good because i have 6 othher cakes that are having a ball right next to them. I dunked and cold shocked right after i birthed them.

A week is not long as it can take 2-3 wks sometimes depending on your strain (substrain) and parameters. GL
