mushy hrdroponic system theory
    #487238 - 12/11/01 12:09 PM (15 years, 9 hours ago)

i was just sitten her wondering if its possible to have a mushy hydroponic system. i was thingking of how old lanerns use a wick and some sort of fule to feed a flame. think it would be possible to wick nutients to a transplanted colinized cake top to feed it? kinda like how a old lantern works. lets say you could get a liquid nutrient formula that mushies could use to gro off. you put it in a lets say 1/2 pint jar and use a wick of some sort to transport the nutrients to a collinized or even pinning mushy cake top that sits on top of the jar. then put it in your terrarium and birth some fruits. has any one tried this yet? any other theories or ideas? perhaps use a caseing insted of a cake. probly wouldnt work but what the hell its an idea

Rehydrate and feed the cakes with honey water syringe.
Don't get me wrong, i understand your idea and it might be done but it's too much work and with the syringe it's easy and fast.

Peace,
MAIA

Does the honey need to be sterlised if so how ?
What kinda ratios Water/honey are good ?
How much per cake how often?
Could this be a way to introduce contaims ??
What kind of different results have you seen from this method ?
Thx man for any help , verry curious about this , was thinking about a theory on why this wouldnt work , but couldnt find one , shed some light, peace

I've never done this before but i will try on my next batch, it has been done by others tough. I would use the same recipe for mycellium medium, the ratio is 1 tea spoon of honey to each 250ml of water. I normally do honey water inside a jar with plastic lid, the plastic lid has a hole on the centre and covered with tape, it serves to introduce the syringe needle and work clean.
Grab the jar (you can do it in a smaller jar, just mantain the ratios), put water, put honey, mix well, close the jar with the lid, microwave for about 10 minutes on max setting, let cool down, insert syringe and suck the honey water, ready to go.
I really don't know how often you should hydrate the cakes, better begin with small quantities.
Reports point an increase of 20% in mushroom production.

Peace,
MAIA
