Does anybody know of incense that doesn't smell like burned smoke poop? Incense smells good when it's in front of my nose, but other than that...eh. Although, my pine incense smells exactly like pine when burned...

I like to use burning oils myself. They're fuller and nicer. Those incence sticks that you get 12 for a dollar are the ones that smell like burning leaves or what-have-you. If you are willing to shell out a little more cash on incence, you can get nicer ones.
I spent 10 bucks on this pack of 'super-incence'. It only had 10 sticks in it...but it was worth it. The burning smoke was so thick, slow-burning and nice smelling. You don't even have to burn a whole stick of this stuff because it's so strong. Just 1/3 or so will do. Any more then that and you won't be able to breathe.
In the end, oils are best. I like lavender and moonflower. Mmmmm....

my favorites are dragon's blood and ecstasy. The best inscence I've had came from japan though, they where the ones that people always burn at the altar things over there (they stick them in these pots with sand and they'll also like fan the smoke to parts of there body that hurt). Anyway, those are my favorites... just buy the stuff from a shop or something that just sells stuff like that and doesn't sell the crappy stuff that just smells like the wooden stick burning.

As an oracle, we burn bundles of incens all day. Here a short list of non "Burning' or "poopy" incense
Jasmine (aphrodiasic effect)
Balsan Flowers (very intoxicating)
Spices- (Exotic musky scent)
Patcholui ( A classic , but cheaper brands tend to smell bad)
Frankincense ( Granual type burnt on charcoal is best - must be watched, or it will burn- stick is Ok, but doesnt have same 'effect')
Stay away from Incense that is named after Perfumes, or made up names, cause you dont know whats in them- I find all woodsey (pine, cedar etc) tend to smell like burning wood - Flowery burn cleaner.

Mountain Fresh....It's really light, but the smell is just beautiful. Incredably clean and distinct scent.

I love Mountain Fresh. It's an incredably clean and light, but also a very distinct scent. If you can find some I reccomend making a purchase, it's defiently worth it.

I don't know what it's called but I like the ones that come in these little boxes and they have japanese or chinese symbols all over it. I guess that doesn't help much...

That is Nag Champa, juggles... And it is indeed fantastic. Mostle because it doesn't have a shitty after smell, but it does leave a smell of it in everything (I think that is a blessing, not a curse) so you smell champa-y all day!
