What a hard decision...
Pirates definitely know how to have more fun, but I'd be worried about getting shanked or having to walk the plank.
Ninjas are more respectable and disciplined. If you are killed, its a possibility that the stealth of your enemy would lead to a quick , near-painless death.

I wouldn't say ninjas are more respectable.
They hide in the shadows and stab you in the back. Sounds cowardly to me.

Well, pirates have a BLAST as far as lifestyle goes. Drinking rum, plundering ships and treasures, and pillaging villages and taking all their women.
But as far as combat between the two, Ninjas have the upper-hand, no doubt.
Vikings, however, are far more hardcore than pirates. They get the whole pirate package, PLUS they slay Christians and do psychedelics.

Ninjas are assassins, they're main advantage is stealthiness, hit and run type tactics. They aren't properly equipped for prolonged heavy combat. That being said, if a group of ninjas snuck on a pirate ship at night while the pirates are all parting, they'd definitely have the upper hand.
