Hey, I pressure cooked a few quart jars of Verm, and BRF today. I cooked em for a good hour, and I just opened the cooker, and the verm is a darker shade than my last batch. I think I burnt them :D They do seem a little bit more mended together, which I suspose will make it harder for the mycilium to colonize.
Hehe, are these still alright?

Also, is it normal for the water coming out of the pressure cooker to smell aweful?

Oh, and I opened one up and touched it, and it is still moist.

i just sterilized a few jars of verm and brf and i just opened the pressure cooker and it stunk my whole kitchen up like some kindof nasty rotten fish smell damn im afraid to go near that nasty shit... just wondering if thats suppost to happen too

i believe the smell of nasty water is fine, both times i used my PC it had STANK water

An hour of PC steaming is fine. You didnt burn anything if there was still water in the PC when you opened it. You did turn the heat to the PC off after one hour right? If you did there is no way that you burned the vermiculite in properly prepared jars by steaming via a PC for one hour.
