>>>>>>And I think I understand why you do it, I presume that you are older than most of people in the shroomery at least over 30 and that you have been into a lot of things and gotten disillusion at most. (Correct me if I am wrong) I have been there. Yes, he has mentioned that he has been thru the sixties, which would put him at at least 40+. >>>>>>>And in defense of Swami I feel he is trying in his way to save you from disillusion and make you break a way from fantasy. I may be wrong but that?s may feeling. I think that is his intention as well. I *know* that is my intention. It has no malice behind it, it is intended to attempt to bring the clear light of reasoning to bear on these rather "out-there" topics.

Your post is right on the mark. I am 46 and have seen and been involved in so many things. Perhaps life-experience and wisdom cannot be transmitted. Perhaps every single person has to step in the same potholes as the previous generation. I had only hoped to point out the potholes. I have no children, so maybe it is some fatherly instinct to protect the younger ones. (I can hear the catcalls now - " Who the fuck are you to protect me?" Yet those with younger brothers and sisters or young children will comprehend this feeling.) There was one poster who wondered why I challenge everything. His by-line (or whatever you call the closing remark) was Challenge Authority. Yet he couldn't see the irony in that. As I mentioned in one post, I peripherally knew someone who committed suicide in the Heaven's Gate Cult. All of this alien / comet / 12th planet talk is not "harmless". I do not personally dislike shroomism, but his self-appointed role as "Pied Piper". Here is my only real message behind all the words: "Think for yourselves. Take nothing at face value." Buddha put it a different way according to legend. He said "If you find the Buddha on the road, kill him!" Think about what he meant.

I am 35 and walk a similar path, I have been in a so call "esoteric school of knowledge" for 10 years believing every thing that I was told, I thought that I was in the right track that I was being spiritual, until one day I realize that the "Master" was a froad, was involve sexually with every pretty woman in the school, keep asking for money etc. and I can go on and on. When I decide to leave I try to show the evidence to close friends, they refuse believe, they were so blinded in there beliefs they accused me of being the negative force for trying to bring down this so cold "Master" and the school. But I have learned a real spiritual lesson out of all this. First never to put anyone on a high pedestal, second to think for my self and seek the truth by personal experience not because somebody said so. I feel that my spiritual journey has started for real now and that all the tools are with in me to unlock the mysteries of life and not with a guru or a priest . I know you have good intensions but some people need to go thru a big disillusion to be able to wake up and liberate their mind, I now I did. Needless to say most of the people in that school are still there (more than 20 years of dedication) beliving that they are spiritual, that they know something that the rest don't, that they are special some how. And for those out there take my story as another good intension even thou it may be in vane. Sorry for my grammer english is my second language
