 Side effects from prolonged cold shock

Setting :
8 cakes , birthed , 10 days in terrium w/temps at 61* .
Everyewhere ive read they cold shock for 24,hrs , i was curious for my pet shroom goblin (Gobble) in his case the cold shocking is happening in the terrium , will this prolonged cold shock inhibit any growth or mycelum damage ??? hes working on raising the temps, thx for any help , peace

I don't think that will hurt them. When you cold shock, you put them in the refrigerator which ideally should be at about 42 to 40 degrees.

you're slowing downthe growth rate of the mycelium. you're telling it its time to be in hibernation mode pretty much. you won't get any pins and subsequently fruits till you raise that temp about 20-25 degrees.

Ever heard of this before ....
after 6 days in the terrium , the cake closest to the bubbler had like 5-7 all whit 1/2" hight pencil circumfernce raising off the top of the cake, at day 10 tthey looked to have shunk to 1/4 " in hieght now and not as wide?????
Is/can the mycelum pull itself back ,,,, like burr its cold out here im going back in ?????
wtf my goblins brain is boggled , help plz , after temps rise though on a side note all should be good and steady right ???
you think it will put a hurting on his first flush size????

Sounds like you nailed it....
When you raise the temp, I bet they'll fruit aggressively.

raise your temps asap if you have them in the terranium now. you're creating an environment for a REAL sucky pin set which is the determining factor for your fruiting cycle.

the pin set which will create the susequent "flush", after your first flush you will get a "second chance" you can clean the cakes off and dunk them to rehydrat, cold shock, try casing, whatever you want to do. you will then have a second chance to create a optimum environment for your babies. regardless of a shroomies genetic disposition, strain, whatever, it can only thrive and reach those potentials based on the environmentals conditions you provide for them
