Bush remakrs on bin Laden

Bush mocked Osama bin Laden again today in another terrorist-bashing speech
it is interesting to note that Bush slammed bin Laden for not taking part in suicide bombings himself, and "brainwashing young men to blow themselves up instead"
Can anyone sense the irony of such a statement coming from Bush? Is Bush in Iraq with an M16 fighting on the front lines? No. Rather, a bunch of 18, 19, 20 year olds are out there actually fighting his war.
So where does he get the iola to make such statements?

bush has consistently projected his own extremist ideology..and actions..on OBL and "the terrorists".. ie "they [TTs] dont like our freedom"...although i cant say if bushs' toadys have really been "brainwashed" or if their simply playing along for their own selfish interests.. religious bigotry.. etc...

Well really, telling somebody if they blow themselves up to kill dozens of civilians they will be doing God's will, making Iraq a better place, create a glorious Islamic empire and will be treated to 72 virgins in heaven is a little more dishonest than saying to a soldier "If you fight in this war you will make America safer".
Perhaps neither risk their own lives for their cause, but as for the brainwashing youths it seems to me that Osama Bin Laden is just a TAD bit worse.

I mean...it just sits there in the ether and nobody seems to grasp the lunacy of a statement like that.
how do you get away with that?
I hope Jon Stewart jumps on that one...

I agree. I long for the days of a leader that actually leads his men into battle. I'm talking charging in front, revolver in the air, full gallop, inspiring the troops to follow....etc. That would be awesome.

To me both are quite dishonest. America doesn't need human bombs because it has military might.
Lastly, bin Laden himself likely sincerely believes that suicide bombers are martyrs of God

I came across some pertinent excerpts in the book I'm reading:
"The official religions and patriotic fervor of many states make their troops willing to fight suicidally.
The latter willingness is one so strongly programmed into us citizens of moderns states, by our school sand churches and governments..."
"...it is often government that organizes the conquest, and religion that justifies it."
that is to say, we do have a leader running out ahead of our troops, not physical or material, but spirtually in the form of our gods and our history of military greatness and national pride.

Yes, history of military greatness and national pride is a big one. I am an atheist however, so no spiritual reason motivates me.

That's because most of them aren't THAT religious... religion rules supreme in the Mideast and it wouldn't surprise if it always does
