1" thick 50/50+ and how damn long?

How long should it take for a 2" layer of mycelium with a 1" layer of 50/50+ on top of it, to show through on an average? I had a few small spots and I put a tiny bit of casign on them. It's been 1 week and very little progress. Is is the top casing depth as my rh and temp are great?

Sounds like your due for pinning in less than a week- depending on strain.

So I should have seen pinning already? I barly seen any myc. The strain is Gulf Coast. Do you have personal experience with 1" top casing layer? Are you saying 1 week for pinning with that?

My understanding is that you have a few spots of myceluim growing to the top of the 1" casing. If thats the case, the pins might very well pop thru in areas that has no obviouis mycelium on the surface. There are other teks that could be utilized at this stage, as people have pointed out in other threads.

Just be patient. It sounds like you have done everything corectly. Give it atleast another week.
Also if you need to do something.
Try deep scratching.

Patients yes. One of my worst faults. I am just trying to get a feel. I have never cased so thick but since Paul damn Staments suggests it I tried it. I was just hoping someone else out there had and could tell me how long I should expect to see some real growth. A second set of caseings I did have started spotting with growth. The first set I put some more 50/50+ on the spots that were coming up as per ryche's instructions. This time I think I'll just let them be and we'll just see who does what. The real news is that my straw is kicking ass. I am deffinately thinking of heading off into strawland.
