"Has anyone reached the point in their college career where you just can't handle homework anymore? Even if it's a major assignment, you still can't find a way to give it 100% effort? That's where I stand now. Kinda scary."
word yo. in HS i was all dedicated until the 2nd half of my junior year when i got an early case of senioritis. then in college i got all fired up again until the end of my sophmore year. now, i have 2 semesters to go (plus finishing this one out), and i couldn't give a shit about anything any more. i know what i have to keep my GPA at to graduate, and thats all. i failed the first test of my life the other week just because i am going to pass the class and i dont care about my grade in it. i could have got a hundred if i would have tried, but i just wanted to come home and go online. (i actually did get a 105 on the 2nd test in the class). when i was a freshman and all dedicated, i looked at seniors in my gen ed classes and saw how clownin they were and thought they were fucked up, but now i get it. school gets so old. its time to start making some money...

Its what it is right? I thought I was going to study stuff, not just sit and write down stuff and regurgitate it. Oh well, easier the better I guess
Yes, please copyright that. Get the word out, lol.

Yes it is. I thought I was going to LEARN stuff, not just memorize it before the test and then forget it afterwards.

Yeah man, I thought the same way. I thought I was by myself and the only one having this freaking problem. At least I know the contrary now.

Seems like everyone starts slacking around the same time that I start, and since most of my classes are curved, I just keep my tests above average and I'm gravy. And I fucking hate physics, just to let you guys know.

One other thing is that lately, I've been spending more time posting in here than doing homework...that's definitely a bad sign. A sign that i clearly have no life, and a sign that I'm slacking.
I HATE Trig, guys. You have no idea how much hate i have for this shit (well you might). I SHOULD be doing my homework right now, but I just dont feel up for it. I think i'm going to find some food instead.

*brainstorming* I think a good way to learn would be to have some type of class or something with forums. I have learned how to do so many things with forums. It seems like I am actually learning more by reading forums, than sitting in class for hours on end. I think I learned more about sine waves in car audio forums than I have in many of my analog electronics classes...

oh public schools...creating a supply where there is no demand...
so we all end up doing busy work. eliminate the public schools and let business do on the job training for a change.

I'm taking an AC Circuits class right now. It's actually pretty fun because the teacher is cool and he's a no-bullshit kind of guy. he jsut gets to the points and we dont even use our books. I actually enjoy it even though I'm a bit lost in lab sometimes...the calculations are a piece of cake but actually hooking up the circuits and measuring the components is a different story.

I'm doing Computer Engineering...and another thing is it's an AS degree. It's the only thing our local college offered. So that's another thing that is getting me down because I want something more than a 2 year degree...but I dont know what I can do...

Maybe you can land a job where they will pay you to go back to school for a bachelors or masters. Maybe thats just wishful thinking though. That kinda sucks though because the pay goes up substancially from 2 to a 4 year degree usually.

Yeah, I was thinking about dual majoring. They offer a major here for Computer Integrated Manufacturing. It only takes like 4 more classes to get that second major...so maybe that'd help? =X

I was also just thinking about joing the military after I get this major so I'll be an officer in the air force. They'd pay for my education and pay me and i'd get great experience. The only downside...i dont want to go to iraq. haha

The original post spoke my mind to a tee. I'm a junior in college and I'm just so burnt out with school in general I can't bring myself to study or do homework and it's barely 2/3 of the way through the semester. I usually get like this right before finals, but the past couple semesters I've just wanted break to start so I can have fun. Now that I'm really into Mushroom cultivation it makes it that much harder to concentrate on something I'm not really interested in. This forum is so much more interesting and informative than most of my classes. Kinda sucks a lot. Oh well. D's get degrees right?
