I used to have lucid dreams very often as a child, and I missed them a lot. So a long time ago, back when I was a bit more daring and didn't have access to anything else, I took D. inoxia seeds, having heard that they induce lucid dreaming. On the first night I took 3, and was happy to find that they worked. The next night, I took 7, with the same effects. All the following day I had the worst headache of my life; thought I was suffering brain damage. I learned my lesson and I plan to avoid them in the future.

I doubt Datura will ever be scheduled though. It doesn't really have much potential for abuse, and those that live through a higher dose probably won't ever want to try it again...

It tends to kill thoes that abuse it , so this is true , also true most would not want to try it a second time. Not a pleasent intoxication, but it can result in serious life changes, for better or worse, or the most drastic change anyone living now can experience , Rotting in a box , six feet under ... -Tranceharper

I recently found an old new article about a guy who sampled some Datura. At one point he wandered outside to the garden, his mom said he appeared to be acting perfectly normal. He returned to the house naked and wrapped in a bloody towel. He cut off his tongue and penis with garden shears and neither one was able to be re-attached.

Ouch.

A friend was in mexico.

A lot of kids apparnetly do datura down there, it grows all over the place. Anyway, this one kid got pretty insane on it, and his dad tried to duct tape him to the couch. The kid bit a huge chunk out of the man's thigh. They took a look at the scar, said it was huge. As big a chunk as one could potentially take. Think Big Mac commercial with the basketball player chomping down on a burger.

I've eaten datura about 15 times. (I've eaten metal, inoxia, stramonium and a few others)

There is potency levels with the seeds. Basically when they are white they do little to nothing. More potent are the yellower seeds. These are most likely the ones you want to eat. Because after yellow they start to turn a mucus brown, and then they become too potent for most anyone to eat. After brown the pod drys out and the seeds turn black.

DO NOT EVER EAT THE DRIED BLACK SEEDS.

It's really really hard to dose you're self on them. REALLY.

Do not eat other parts of the plant, once I at the leaves and flowers and it turned my lips blue and almost killed me.

Also, please note that if you do decide to do this, I will not only be surprised if you survive, but remember that that annoying 'I can't read stuff close up because it gets all blurry' thing IS BRAIN DAMAGE.

...

Not that brain cells don't grow back, but still dude, this shit IS neuro-toxic.

Not exactly, its an occular phenomenon. Many agents causing mydriasis (even for eye examinations) are known to cause this kind of blurry vision.

A greenhouse once contained a datura plant. In this particular class, apparently no one knew just what it was. One kid was handling the plant and soon after put his contacts in. He had dialated pupils for the next 4 days. Not sure about his vision, was fine as far as I know.

The blurriness in the eyes is the result of atropine. Atropine eye drops paralyse the eye temporarily and harmlessly and are used in the treatment of lazy eye.

For me, every time I took Datura my eyes could not focus for next 2 - 3 days as it relaxes eye muscles that are used for focusing.
I feel Datura is boring and does not produce any mental effects but only physical relaxation, dry mouth and some feeling of emptyness inside my chest...
