automated cake hydration idea(pics)

hello this is sort like an automated way of doing the drinking straw tek, does any one think it would work? and in this set up will the air pump provide good enough air exchange so that fanning isnt required?

The water pressure from the bottle would certainly cause a high pressure at the tubes end (where they are inserted into the cakes) and drown the cakes. Definately OVER watering them.

Suggestion: Fill the tube that is inserted into the cakes with a substance like coc-coir (cotton balls may even work). It will absorb the water and make it easier for the mycelium to absorb it rather than having the water directly contact the mycelium. It may also help buffer the pressure from the water. I have no experience with the drinking straw tek so this is purely my two cents.

hmm... yeah i should of seen that coming..... i like the cotton thing. instead of like the old drawing it could syphon out that way the only pressure is from the weight of the water in the tube currently. i think this should work. thanks for the reply
