Thai Koia Samui

For all the vendors that carry this particular strain of P. Cubenis how would you rate it concerning colinization and fruiting speed as well as it's potency?
I hate to pester you with petty questions that could have been asked on the cultivation thread but would prefer your advice over other non vendors (no offense guys) assuming you would have more detailed knowledge on the subject.
I'm basically looking for the best over all strain for speed, yield and potency. Any info that would point me in the right direction would be appreciated.
Thanx, Hollywood

I totally agree there is a lot of hype around em. they aren't even that visual.
Speaking on Thai ks.
Still a decent strain and easy as can be.
they are definatly speedy that is a fact, they provide a very speedy buzz. If you like speed go for the"ks"

Man this strain is starting to remind me of PESA. Everyone brags it up as being soooo potent. Then it's like mostly a body buzz. (I have only sampled Thai Koia Samui once, I kinda thought that I seen visuals)
What ever happen to strains that truly made people trip? A speedy body buzz isnt what many consider trippin. Like, wha? No mothership? Man, the PF Classic strain is starting to look apealing all over again.

Out of five stars I would rate Koh samui to be a 5 for colonization speed, a 3 for yields and a 4 for potency. I havent tried too many strains, but out of the ones I have tried this is a pretty descently potent mushroom. As for yields I have had some very good yields with it. About a 1/2 oz dry off one casing was my best. The thing about the koh samui that I have noticed is that you either get alot of small fruits(average about 3 inches) or a few medium to big ones (average about 7 inches.) If your going for the best all around I would say Ecuadors. The colonization is slower than Ks but the potency and massive amounts of fruits make up for it. Also the Thai Lipa Yai are one of my favorites. Same as equadors but faster colonization. Little bit smaller fruits too. Anyways that is my two cents.

I completely agree with you guys. I also found KS to be speedy and not very visual. Personally, I found them too speedy. I had beautiful flushes on an out doorbed. It produced small fruits of about 1.5-3 inches tall. Even though it produced nice flushes I was not impressed with the potency, and Iam a light weight.
For potency, and nice visuals I would also recommend equadors. They simply rock.

im kinda dissapointed i havent seen much word on THE's plantasia but from personal experience i would give it a fairly high rating fo colonization it gave a nice heavy(extremely heavy) even pinset with moderate to small fruit and excellent visuals ie lots of rainbows lots of things turning into other things and lots of fun

So someone is saying that the Pink Buff isnt too good?? I was about to try that one... I found the Lipas to be big yielders but again - i wasnt THAT impressed with the trip - better than B+, but not sooo good when compared to Golden Teachers and Tasmanians and as someone said - good ole PF class/Matias Romero

When you say they are speedy are you saying that they give you a speedy buzz or that they colonize and fruit to fast? Sorry for the dumb question just wasn't sure what you ment.

isis is correct.
But both are true about this strain.
You can give it a try it's worth a try but not a repeat!

I ordered Lipa Yai, Pink Buffalo, and Plantasia from T.H.E. my first time out. I grew the lipa yai first on grain and was very pleased with the results. They colonized quickly and were very potent. I didn't get many but the ones that grew were 6 to 7 in. on average. I tried the pink buffalo next and lost all to bacterial contam. I am drying my first flush of the plantasias and I am very pleased with them also. It colonized very quickly and gave a nice first flush. I can't wait to try them.

If you guys really want to see this cub excel to its full potential try it on a dung based substrate.
Our Thai Koh Samui is one of our absolute best yielders, and certainly fastest fruiters. Even though we've seen some colonize faster, the thai ks alwasys fruits first.
I've seen a lot of varied results from pics ppl have posted from growing this one on grain. We've always grown it out on dung based substrates and it absolutly rocks. Although it does not grow very tall, it makes up for it thickness and density.
I've eaten this one many times and never had a complaint about potency from anyone, but then again they were always grown out on a substrate high in tryptamines.
Another note on the Thai KS is this one is very contam resistant. Rarely do we see the substrate turn green after the compst is spent.
Its definatly -Clyde's- favorite for all the above reasons.
I see McMan is back posting as MycoTek [thumbdown]

i sold a quarter of this straing (thai K.S.) my friends split it up, said it was the hardest trip they've ever had, most potent. 4grams each :) i used BRF and verm for substrate and an all verm casing. it was my first time growing

I don't think anybody would dispute that it's very potent.Too damn speedy for me though.

I never said it did not grow well on grain. I personally have not grown it on grain but I get plenty of feeback from customers that do that are very happy with that cub.
All I'm saying is if you want to see its full potential grow it on a dung based substrate. Although that statement can apply to any cubensis. Look at the mexi cubs for example, on grain they grow very small, on dung they increase size by 10X easily.
When the KS is grown on dung it becomes extremly thick and dense. What appears to me a semi small mushroom ends up weighing very heavy. Thick solid nugs, one big bite sends you on a beautiful journey
I got to thinking about this thread last night. These mushrooms do affect ppl in differnt ways. What I've been saying all along is how findings have been published of many different alkaloids in these mushrooms that are unidentified and they dont know exactly how they react to our bodies with mixed with psilocin/psilocybin.
Take the ecaudor cub for example, I personally dont care for the high of that cub because it makes me very sleepy. I get very very lazy on those. I've seen quite a few others say the same thing. Yet some just absolutly love the ecuadors.
The KS is a great stain, but probably not well suited for substrates such as rice cakes.
The reason I suggest it for beginners is because it is so easy to grow, its fast, and it resists contamination very well.
Just my opinions, your milage may vary.

Ryche,I know you are not a rip-off in the sense where you don't deliver your product, but it is time you come clean about the KS.This is the most over-hyped "strain" ever. You are solely responsible for this hype. There are claims and even blown-up magnifications of your KS photos floating around this community, that show clear evidence of your "doctoring of the KS photos"(tracing, misalignment,shading,etc.).We have seen picture after picture of members results with this strain on every type of substrate, yet we have NEVER seen anything even closely resembling YOUR doctored photos.Your marketing practices are insidious. You are always speakin about karma out of one side of your mouth, while the other side is so quick to insult, rip into, and slander any vendor that may have as large a marketing budget as yourself.Ryche give us all a break with this karma stuff. On behalf of everybody who has seen your fake photos, and heard your insipid rhetoric,we say to you Ryche Hawk:GET REAL OR GET LOST.
