i have every thing ready to go but all i have is 4-5 1cc syringes.instead of 10 cc syringes would it work out if i used the 1cc syringe and inject a smaller amount of spores into the cakes(because it would be stronger). it would be harder to keep sterile to use the 1cc syringe(relaoding it ) over and over for say a dozen jars.or just wait to get the 10cc syringe any ideas were to find one localy .

I would not use the 1ml syringe. If you live in or outside of an area where people keep farm animals, you will find them readily available at feed stores no questions asked. Look in the phone book.
If you can't find a feed store you can use a marinate injector used to inject meat tenderizers into meat. These can be found at large hardware stores, cooking supply stores, supermarkets. etc..

with my first two innoculations, i had to make my own syringes. The largest i could find here locally was a 3cc syringe at the drug store and the largest diameter needle they had was 18g. Well, both jars fully colonized and are both growing happily in my terrarium. I dunno, I know it's not 'ideal', but seems to have worked ok for me thus far.

Yea, that is ridiculous..... get a 10 or 12 cc, with 18 gauge needle. If no luck with the feed stores, you can get one out of the 'printer ribbon refill' kits.... some are even luer lock syringes... and some have needles longer than the standard 18 gauges.

Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do! A bigger syringe would be nice but if you can't fine one, then yes, your little one will work. It'll be a lot more work but your persistence will pay off. Just try to be as sterile as possible when reloading that little guy!
