you just got pulled over on a back roads highway, and had your car searched, the cop found a duffel bag so full of drugs and what not that you are going to be going to jail for the rest of your life,
he just put the duffel on the hood of his car, and is about to cuff you, and JUST called for backup when *WHAM* he is hit by a drunk driver who takes off as quickly as he aproached.

there you are, probably on one of those cop cameras, the cop is hurt badly and will die unless you help him. You can help him and go to jail as the man who saved the life of a cop, or run and save your own life probably on the run......
what would you do?

I'd say, sir, I'm a licsenced medic I'm going to help you. Next I'd go to the police car and radio what happened.
Then I'd make sure his airway was okay, listen for breathing... if he's not breating and there is no mouth barrier, then I put him on his back and go directly to cpr. If there is a barrier then I go to AR, 2 breaths in, exhale, 15 reps of CPR.
Once he's stabalized with a pulse and steady breathing, check for any cuts or other injuries such as broken bones and repair as nessecary. Once all that shit is taken care of put the policeman into recovery position and maybe drape with a jacket.
At that point you take your bag of drugs and get rid of it.
Hey maybe the policeman won't remember? You never know.

they dont have tapes anymore... atleast in AZ... my cousins a cop and i asked him... so i would take his gun and shoot him in his ball sack and leave....

That would probably be anyones best bet. You're pretty much guaranteed to get off easy if you save a cops life.

if a cop is about to cuff you doesnt that mean hes not being "cool and understanding"???? of course if he was gona let me go id save him... but if your gonna go to jail for the rest of your life... then fuck that... you guys are crazy if you choose to go to jail to save a cop who was just about to ruin yours... eye for an eye.... and jail is worse. id much rather die a quick death.

What if the cop could only be saved by you? I wouldn't ditch him just for some drugs. If he sends me to jail that's his prerogative, that only reflects on how stupid our society is. Think of the cop, he's probably got family and friends, not fair to just ditch him.
As I said if you end up in jail for 3 consecutive life sentences that's a reflection of a shitty society, not the cop's fault at all. He's just doing his job.

I'd call an ambulance, make sure he was stable, and then dispose of the drugs (Run away and bury them somewhere).
Even with the footage from the cop car, they coudln't prosecute without the evidence.

Yeah when a person isn't breathing and thier heart stops you really have about a 4-6 minute window to do AR and CPR, otherwise they will either die or get permanent brain damage.
With bleeding it can be a bit more difficult, especially if you don't have a proper barrier. You don't know if the guy has hepatitis or aids for sure. But I travel with a good first aid kit so I would actually be able to fix most problems.

That's a hard one. But I think it depends on the drugs in the bag. If its all heroin, coke, and a bunch of hard core drugs, one might be inclined to take off (with the bag); if the bag is full of marijuana and shrooms and the like, one would be sympathetic and help. How'd you like those stereotypes?
I voted to help and go to jail, but here's a third option: take as many of the drugs as possible (get rid of the evidance) and give the cop some, he'd probably appreciate it.

first of all I am not a kid, second of all, if someone was dying I would help them..it would help on any sentence. running completely makes it worse when they do catch up with you. and third of all I have my own back..and have enough friends, that would back me up anyway..

I fail to see the logic behind that idea. In fact, it seems like that concept would combine the bad parts of both options 1- let cop die and 2- get caught.
hell, in some states you'd even have an extra good samaritan law charge against you. 300 years in prison w/o bail for j00.

what would you do?
Stash the drugs and help him. He wont remeber much of anything when he comes too. No warrants no hassel. Giving you a traffic ticket when there man was struck down seems rather lame.

There's no way you'd get away. When you're pulled over they run your plates before they get out and come to your car. It'd be pointless to run. Call the fucking police, THEN run off with your drugs throw them somewhere, then go back and wait for the back-up.

You always except your fate. Looks like it would be a long hard battel the way this person in the car is going. Atleast get some good karma and help the officer and show compasion, im sure the judge would do the same. If you would even need to go before the judge. Eather way whats the difference leaving an officer to die or killing the minds or our youth.

unless you're prepared to unjustly spend a very long time in prison to help the guy that put you there, i think the best thing you can really do is everything you can to help without getting yourself jammed up. do what you can and take off with the evidence.
here is a parellel situation. i can't see any way that it is fundamentally different than the one just described. you are a jew on your way to a concentration camp when the vehicle you are being escorted in veers off the road and into an embankment. the driver, a german officer, is trapped, but you can get him out. do you help him or take off?

What a bunch of horseshit. Police officers aren't state automotans, they're people who by their own free will choose their profession. They must be held accountable to distinguish between what is just and what is unjust, despite what is coded in THE LAW. Any officer who chooses to impede the flow of your life or even destroy it by choosing to enforce an unjust law becomes the deliveryman of tyranny, your personal rival! A cop, and the state that creates him, do just that and with a large degree of immunity by virtue of force. I'm not aiming to answer the question of the roadside drug bust/hit and run. I'm only asserting that when a cop chooses to enforce an unjust law, he has gone beyond the realm of "just doing his job". What defines an unjust law? One that imposes tyranny and suffering upon an individual when he has done nothing to prevent another from enjoying their liberty. If you can make a case that the guy with a big bag of drugs is doing that, then go ahead, but drugs don't jump into people's pipes or inject themselves into people's veins.

I know people personally that have been let off of things that would have fucked them over. Nothing huge, a DUI and possesion, for example. Cops DO let people off sometimes. When it comes down to it though, you are in possession of something that your government has decided to make illegal. Just or unjust, you know that it is illegal, and taking a risk.
