Hmmm.. contamination?

A friend has some jars which have been colonized for a while now... the other day he noted that one jar has a very small (about 2mm in diameter) spot of greenish blue something in it near the top of the jar... this jar was instantly whisked away to a remote locale and is being observed. I realize that a picture might help, but it's not doable right now. Is this green mold? could is simply be brusied mycelium? It has not spread for 3-4 days, it's in a low humidity, 75-80 degree envrionment right now.

funny, you saved me the time of posting this exact same question. My friend's is the same blue-green stuff, isolated, seems like its only growing on one of the bigger chunks of my homemade brf...

Pay attention to whether it spreads in the next few days. If it is the dreaded green mold it will take a hold quite fast. If it is perceived as 'growing' rather than discolored mycellium then there can only be one explanation of what it is. Green Mold.
