Upside down or rightside up?

When I let my jars incubate or whatever I had them sitting lid side up (like they come in the box). When I birthed them I set them on the vermiculite top (pftek method) so they were upside down. Not sure if this would affect them but in all of the pictures I've seen it looks like the part of the cake that was in the bottom of the jar is facing up.

what youve prob seen is whats called "double ended caseing tek" where to get a second or third flush a damp amount of vermiculite is placed inside the lid and the cake is flipped upside down ontop of it.

Hey phucknut, putting them upsidedown is fine, in fact if you set them on perlite, most of your primordia will form around the base where the verm is, and drink up the water from the perlite.
