do you have to pick an abort before the cap turns black in order to eat it? also if you are drying mushrooms with damp-rid and it takes 4 or 5days, will the mushrooms still be good?

Ya, pick the abhorts before they turn black.

It shouldn't take 5 days to dry the shrooms. Just laying them on the counter for 24 hours usually does the trick unless you live in a damp cave.
