Another person here had asked for some advice on a 5gal bucket FC....this got me thinking how cool it could be and perhaps even automated??
Here is a little something that I thought up while piddling around, hope y'all like it. Ok...ok...I was stoned! Are ya' happy now?
The third bucket in the bottom left hand corner is an optional, automation bucket.

It is my "guesstimation" that a 10"x10" casing tray can fit inside a 5gal bucket. If one used 4" of sub then one tray would hold approx 3.3lbs of h/poo.

Thats pretty tight. I just want to know, if you're using your optional air pump for fae, do you need tyvek covering the holes on the fruiting chamber...since there will always be positive pressure there. I have heard bad things if it is wet for too long. I was thinking of using tyvek for a fc too. Also, I'm curious if you get the same output on an air pump with it sealed up filtering through tyvek?

I have not heard anything about tyvek being affected from moisture. Cotton balls is what I have heard as being a bad choice.
The FC does not need to be airtight, and with holes filtered by polyfil or tyvek it won't be. The aquarium hose, I would think, would be most effective if it blew across your casing for about 30sec every hour or so.
I have experimented with a computer fan, and could not get decent airflow through tyvek, or even a coffee filter. I would imagine that an aquarium pump wouldn't do well through them either.
To me it would seem pointless to use the pump unless it was able to eliminate manual fanning, thus I recommend running the tube to the casing tray.
Hope that helps.

yeah if your using air pumps for fae, make sure you have enough cc's to exchange the air inside your container 2-3 times a minute.

That's cool RK. But not very stealth.
My thinking was to have some buckets stacked in the corner of a spare room. If you angled them with the holes and cord faced towards the wall or the corner, then it would simply seem like some old buckets stacked there and not a grow op.
