 Need help choosing SHPONGLE album..

I've read on this site that the best artist to listen to while tripping on mushrooms is Shpongle..is it really THE best music to trip on? Or is there another artist out there that is even better? Well if theres not please tell me which of their albums you guys would recomend to be best for tripping.

Its all in your preference. I personally like listening to (if you like techno) Hallucinogen. They've got some good beats.

Agree!!
Are You Shpongled is THE trip album. You won't hear anything else like it or experience anything else like it while tripping. It truely is in a class of its own.
Their other two albums are great, but they don't come close to AYS.

Every Shpongle album that I listen to ends up being my favorite one at the time.
I've been groovin' on Nothing Lasts... But Nothing Is Lost quite a bit lately. AYS will always hold a special place for being the first album to grip me in a particular way, but "Dorset Perception" felt the most like "communication" to me.
YMMV, Void where prohibited.

Then if shpongle isn't THAT good for tripping what is? I want to buy a CD that will take my to places like the deep depth of the back of my mind...you know? Like music that practically massages you while you listen to it(while you're high of course) Any recommendations?
I wanna enter different realms and go to delightfully spiritual places thanks to the certain CD. Please someone tell me of an Artist that is capable of doing that because last time that I was at this "mushroom party" the guys had that kind of music. Seriously when I was listening to it on mushrooms it felt so superior and exhilarating. Too bad I never got to see them again. It's weird but noise effects like someone walking cause that feeling I described maybe you know some artists that do that with you? Thanks again every body!

for all you shpongle lovers... expand your minds to the genre of PSYTRANCE... that is what shpongle is... ambient/chilled psytrance beats... if you like the slow shit, imagine honing in on the frequency of a Shpongle type song running at 145BPM! shrooms + psytrance are the way to go, guaranteed great and mystical time. shpongle is the way to start, eventually youll progress to artists like Hallucinogen, Raja Ram, Goa Gil, 1200 Micrograms, Infected Mushroom, all sorts of fun stuff.

Um.......I think this whole thread pretty much said Shpongle is the most amazing music for tripping there is! Don't know where you got the idea we said it wasn't that good??
Anyway, another one of my favorite acts to listen to while tripping is Ozric Tentacles.
Another one would be Future Sound of London.
As for psy trance acts like Hallucinogen and Infected Mushroom...they're amazing as well, but I'll still always prefer Shpongle for its amazing different sounds per album. Especially Are you Shpongled? Some of my most deepest trips and mind melting hallucinations came while listeing to that album.

Any shpongle album is awsome for tripping to, i personally enjoy Tales of The Inexpressible. Other artists similar to shpongle that i enjoy tripping to are Phutureprimitive - "Sub Conscious" and Shulman - "In Search Of A Meaningful Moment" & "Soundscapes and Modern Tales".....check those two out as well, they'll deffiently take you to some beyond places!

When I trip, I really never want to listen to "psychedelic music" like Shpongle. I usually put in the most mellow, acoustic sounding thing I can find.

Definitley!! Especially In Search of Meaningful Moment and Sub Conscious.

sometimes you have the need for some extra weirdness and that's whare shpongle (etc etc) comes in

Yeah, I suppose, but I usually feel pretty weird minus the Shpongle.
Not that I don't like them, I listen to them quite a bit not on mushrooms, I just feel like they would be really intense.

If you haven't heard Shpongle before, and listen to one of the albums for the first time tripping, you will undoubtedly enjoy it immensely. Hallucinogen is very good too. It is Simon Posford's current band, his old band, Shpongle  I would also recommend Infected Mushroom and Astral Projection. All 4 of those bands should take you on a journey inside your own mind. Have fun and enjoy.
