My brother and I were leaving an unfruitful hour in the field. When he spotted these in a bed of a nearby lawn, underneath a bush. Hasn't rained in a while here, so they're all dried out, making them more difficult for my untrained eye- but they're the closest looking things to cyans i've found thusfar. The last look-alikes I found had orange stems, I have some hope since these are white-stemmed. I hope they are, there was a ton of them. (and sorry about the bad photo-quality, my digicam is cheap and I'm unskilled at the lens.) I'm trying for a spore-print but they're dry so I'm not sure if they'll drop any. And no blue-bruising thusfar. Thanks for any help.

PS. They're pretty dirty, and the stems look orange in the pic but they're white.

Trust me bro, they're white, just got a lil dirt on 'em and the camera fucks with the whatchamicallit, the distortion of the color.
could you tell me what about them contrast to cyans? and thanks

you're pretty new to all this arent ya?
We could discuss specific macroscopic differences between these dirty little brown mushrooms youve found and the real deal P. Cyanescen. but just for the love of common sense, please tell me...
do these dirty thangs...
 really look anything at all...
...like these purty thangs?

i see no similarity. the stems on those mushrooms you posted, theyre not a *true white, theyre white-ish at best, but not white like your room's walls are white, capeche? and the caps of those things look nothing at all like a Cyan's cap does.
Just keep hunting. Once you finally see what a real Cyanescen looks like up close held in your hand, you'll understand, and the ID'ing process will become much easier.
Good luck.

i was -just making sure- that those purty thangs could not possibly look like those dirty thangs dried up and dirty.

and ya im new, im not really that new to this, second season, just a noob that hasn't found anything yet.
but i am going down to seattle tommorow, might spend a day or two down there, maybe ill check out some parks. hehe, even though it hasnt rained, maybe ill have better luck.

I didn't pick these.
My brother spotted and picked those, and the reason I don't think he used scissors (well being 13 might be an excuse)was also because the person that owned the house was mowing the lawn as he tried to snatch them, so he wanted to do it as quickly as possible.
Yes, I planned on bringing something to cut the stems, thanks, I think.
