Hi sorry for the poor pictures, but do you think that these are indeed libs. They were found in a MOD field on a hill side.
Thanks

maybe... I don't know wtf a MOD field is though...
spore print them and check some fresh ones for a slimy film that separates from the cap when you break it.
I hope for your sake they are libs, looks like a lot of work for nothing if they aren't ...

Those do look like liberties. I would also like to know what MOD field is?
Take a spore print to make sure they are libs before you go munching away. To take a spore print, cut the cap off of the stem, as close as you can to the cap. Then place the cap, gills down, on a piece of white paper. Place an upside-down glass over the cap and wait about 4-8 hours. When you remove the cap, there should a print left from the spores of the mushroom. If and only if, the spore print is a purplish-brown, then they are liberties. Check the sticky thread near the top of the mushroom hunting forum to see about posting accurate mushroom descriptions.

Thank you all very much for replying.
I?m sorry about my limited description; I did read the rules but im only a novice at mushroom identification.
I?ve munched on lots of libs in my time and these look perfect, but this is the first time I have been successful in finding them for myself.
The camera I used and/or possibly the lighting when I took the photos, made them look a shit yellowy colour.
MOD = MINISTRY OF DEFENCE
The gate leading into the field stated ?Gate to be locked at all times unless sentry posted?
Heavy shit, I thought; as I jumped over!
The field is in the country side, it?s not used for any sort of agriculture as it?s used by the army occasionally.
The terrain is like rolling hillside in a valley.
We didn?t find any towards the edge of the field, but we walked up the hill a bit and found tons of them in little clumps/families spread about the place. They seemed to be the predominant mushroom in the field.
There?s trees? surrounding the field on all sides, and borders on to two farmers field.
I took a spore print last night and it was indeed purple brown coloured.
Could you please elaborate on the following for me?
?.check some fresh ones for a slimy film that separates from the cap when you break it.
We found some slimy looking ones but decided to chuck them as they looked like both haymaker pics + lib cap pics that we saw on the internet.
I fully intend to go back again soon and take my camera with me during the day. I will post pics.
Im pretty certain that these fellows are libs and am drying them now. The only thing that worries me is what else could i possibly be eating? Is there anything that i could easily mistake for libs?
We have been pretty carefull and have sifted through only the ones we think fit the 100% genuine ID. All have nipples and looked a sort of whitey colour before i dried them, all stalks are quite slender and they all have the same sort of gillls.
thanks
Here are some clearer pics seperated from the big piles.
