Help Me Preserve my Cakes

Hey all,
How can I preserve my cakes for a few weeks? I have just harvested the first batch of mushrooms off them, but I won't be able to look after them for a few weeks cause I'm going away, so I'm wondering if there's a way to preserve them; i.e. suspend their development until I come back and can tend to them. Could you please write me a detailed description of what to do. I have a refridgerator, so keeping them cold is not a problem. Thanks, and please be as specific as possible.

Just sticking them in in the fridge is all you can do. The cold slows the growth. You may come home to invitro shrooms

there are many contams in the fridge. i would suggest put them in clean jars with clean lids and put them into the fridge

I didnt mean w/o jars, and I think this line makes that fairly clear:
"You may come home to invitro shrooms"

If there were out of the jars, the dry air in there woudl suck all the moisture out anyways
