Quart jar/Finch seed question
    #483101 - 12/07/01 01:27 PM (22 years, 9 months ago)

I know it swells up when you steep it so I'm thinking 1 1/3 cups dry per/jar before steeping. I will then add about 25-30% verm prior to PC'ing. Does that sound about right??

Try this If you are going to add verm mix the water and the vermiculite first untill it is at the right water content, then add the birdseed and add the rest of the water. Then pressure cook instead of steeping, in works alot better.

Your post is the first time I have heard that Finch seed does not have to be steeped. Do the measurements I mentioned sound about right??
