event horizon was freaked me out big time once while i was tripping. all those scenes of torture and mutilation...it's just no good.

Yeah, Dead Mans Shoes is an excellent film. Blows fear and loathing and the others out of the water! Crazy that none of the Yanks or Canoodians have heard of it 
BTW, I've been in that exact same room where the kid kills himself on acid. It's at Riber Castle in Matlock.

Cool  i'd quite like to see that place... very scenic. Would probably be a good place to do shrooms in the summer... although going into that room would probably freak my shit out completely!!
Im from Yorkshire too... not near Derbyshire though. My mate's uncle is actually the guy who played Gypsy John, the first guy to get killed in the film 
One of the best, most gripping, tense, disturbing, twisted films i've ever seen. To anyone reading this who likes good film making, i seriously recommend you get hold of a copy and watch it... not while tripping though!

I caught a few minutes of Eraserhead on mescaline and had to stop it. I didn't want to go that way with the trip.
