When innoculating my jars today, I guess I was a bit sloppy a couple times and a couple drops of the innoculant/spore water/ whatever got out on the the lid then down the hole! Will contams use this to get into my jar???

My mom saw a couple of my jars yesterday and she thinks I am canning mushrooms b/c she saw a bunch drying in my room last month... "Are you canning your hallucinogenic mushrooms to give to your friends for christmas? I sure hope not"

it's possible contams could get in.. if you got some dry verm on top of your jars it should be allright.  but let me get this straight... your mom asked you if you were "canning your hallucinogenic mushrooms to give to your friends for christmas?"  i like your mom :cool:

My mom walked into my room today, picked up a 95% jar and said "There isnt some sort of critter in here is there?"
I just said "No, its fungus."
She just let out a sigh of relief and put it down, then walked out. I then let out a similar sigh when she left. Good thing she didnt say what kind of fungus. Ahah
