but i know a lot of you guys are from there as i am nearing graduation in High School im thinking of moving from virginia, to Vancouver, I will take up cisco networking traing there and hopefully get a job that pays well so I can eventually open a music shop.. Anyway what i want to know are there any rural areas, preferably mountains or rivers that are in the general area of vancouver that can be lived upon for a rather cheap amount? Im not interested in living in the city as much, rather be up on top of a mountian in view of all the world... however will bear the pains of the city if thats all i can afford is a cheap apartment.. thanks for any help

Nope. Not really in the Vancouver area is anything "cheap". It's prime Canadian land being that it isn't colder than billey-O Virginia? Are you sure you won't freeze your balls off here? Americans freeze to death in Canada all the time.

Try Vancouver Island, talk to CaptainMaxMushroom, the mainland is a little more hectic (and sometimes more expensive) than the Island, you might like the Island though, lots of squatters there I think. ;)

I doubt many americans freeze to death in vancouver. Considering it it barely ever even gets below 0 in the day.. If you want a view, well views are expensive but if you just want to be out of the city I'm sure you could find something cheap somewhere nice like maybe in white Rock or... Near the Dykes in Port Coquitlam or near Golden ears some where or in Ioco near Belcarra. I just throwing names out here... I'm sure you could find something but if you want to go to school in the city you'll probably end up in the suburbs. As far as Vancouver being Hectic: ?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! It's Lotus Land.
