Woman to face prison for sale of psilocybin mushrooms April 12, 2005 mailtribune.com
A 52-year-old Selma woman faces up to 20 years in federal prison after pleading guilty recently to federal money-laundering and drug charges from crimes committed in the late 1990s.
The government's case against Kathleen M. Golden alleged she grew more than 125 pounds of psilocybin hallucinogenic mushrooms and used some of the profits to buy a motor home that she used to sell more mushrooms at the 1999 Woodstock Festival in New York.
Golden pleaded guilty Friday in U.S. District Court in Eugene to single counts of manufacturing psilocybin mushrooms and money laundering, court documents show.
Golden is scheduled to be sentenced June 29, says Special Agent Dan Wardlaw from the Internal Revenue Service's criminal investigation division.
Golden faces up to 20 years in prison, followed by up to three years of federal supervision and a fine of up to $1 million.
The two counts were part of a 10-count indictment handed up by a federal grand jury from a case dating back to the late 1990s. Golden was investigated by the IRS's Criminal Investigation Division and the federal Drug Enforcement Administration.
In exchange for Golden's plea, the government agreed to drop the eight other counts against her, according to the plea agreement Golden signed Wednesday. The agreement was released to the media Monday.
Though no set sentence was stated in the agreement, Golden will be sentenced under federal guidelines, which consider several factors before calculating a recommended sentence.
Attempts to reach Golden by telephone Monday were unsuccessful.
Golden admitted to helping cultivate at least 57 kilograms, or 125.66 pounds, of psilocybin mushrooms as early as the fall of 1997 and as late as January 2000, according to court documents. She also admitted to overseeing a criminal activity that involved five or more people, and that she laundered at least $12,924 acquired from the sale of the illegal drugs, the documents state.
Golden also admitted to using drug profits on March 11, 1999 to buy a $500 cashier's check used to help purchase a motor home, records show.
Golden admitted she drove the vehicle to the Woodstock Festival in July 1999, where she sold more mushrooms, court records show.

Probably the laundering....that's a shitload of shrooms. Even assuming 500/lb taht's over half a million dollars.
Plus they probably caught her growing.....that's a whole lot of dismissed charges.

This info is worthless because it doesn't specify if the shroom weight was DRIED shrooms or FRESH weight shrooms. The difference in the sentencing under the FED system is huge.
If they figure was DRIED, she is in trouble. According the FED guidlines, 40 to 60 KG of dried shrooms is a level 20 felony. No she can get a few points off for the plea.
A level 20 is 33 to 41 months -
At three points off for the plea bargain (acceptance of guilt) - that would be a level 17 or 24 - 30 months.
But if the shrooms were FRESH - that puts here at a level 14 and with 2 points off for the plea (similar to what I got - I got a level 10 felony which allowed me to do 6 months at home with a Martha Stewart bracelet) then she would get a level 12 which is 10 - 16 months.
So she will probably go to a minimum fed prison for about a year and loose some weight.
I have always dreamed of growing shrooms in a RV - I think it is possible as long as you don't hit any serious bumps and watch the gravity forces when turning.

Wait a minute, that is totally possible with no problems at all. All you do is the PF TEK invitro style. And make sure the jars are secure. You can even do a stealth tek and you can shroom all over the highways.

maybe my math is wrong but wouldn't it be under 100grand at 500/lb. unless you mean 5000lb, which i think you do. but i dont think you could get 5g a lb. at most i think 125lbs would be worth somehwere around 300k. still alot...

Woman sentenced for growing hallucinogenic mushrooms October 15, 2005 - mailtribune.com
EUGENE - An Ashland woman has been sentenced to 2? years in federal prison for growing more than 125 pounds of hallucinogenic mushrooms to sell at Woodstock.
Kathleen M. Golden, 53, pleaded guilty in April to knowingly manufacturing psilocybin mushrooms and to money laundering, U.S. Attorney Karin J. Immergut said in a prepared statement. Golden admitted to cultivating approximately 57 kilograms, or about 125.66 pounds, of mushrooms, measured in dry weight, during the late 1990s, according to documents filed in U.S. District Court.
Golden, formerly of Selma, also laundered $12,924 when she purchased a recreational vehicle with proceeds from the mushrooms, Immergut said. She used the RV to travel to the 1999 Woodstock Festival in New York where she sold the illegal mushrooms.
Golden admitted to being the leader of an organized criminal activity that involved five or more other individuals, Immergut said. The Internal Revenue Service’s criminal investigation division and the Drug Enforcement Administration investigated the case.
Golden’s sentence - imposed Thursday in District Court - is to be followed by three years of supervised release. She is scheduled to report to prison on Jan. 17.

What's wrong with this picture? Something definitely doesn't add up. Strange.

She grew them herself too, so there's not really a supplier to snitch on for reduced time. Hmm.. good question diver

She probably gave them somebody. I can't see how she got off so easily otherwise. If you are moving that kind of weight of anything, you're gonna have other connections as well.
