dude, blacklight is awesome! You need a special lamp for the florescent bulbs, but it is worth it, everything glows!

Blacklight is UNREAL.
I was in Switzerland this summer and one hostel i stayed at ("The Funny Farm") had a blacklight in the washroom. It was absolutely incredible! I drank several gallons of water just to see my pee come out bright flo. green. Washing your hands with a white bar of soap is nuts too... i mustve had the cleanest hands in Switzerland that night...

Its weird.. whenever I trip being in a room with a blacklight seems to make everything so funny. When I turn on normal lights, things just seem less funny... dont know why this is.

A friend of mine painted the walls of a room with pyscadelic drawings of 'shrooms, leaves and shit with Woolite(R). When he turns the lights off and the black lights on they apear in a awesome display of intense purple. The drawings are totaly invisable without the black lights in use. I mean it's pretty trippy to see!

I almost always trip with my blacklights on. The best bulbs are the 48" flourscent ones. You can pickup two 48" bulbs for about $10 each at wal-mart and pickup a shoplight fixture for them for about $6 - $10 depending on how cheap of one you buy : ) I have mine hanging in my room, I have it on almost all the time. I like the mood a blacklight sets a lot better than without it. I get more visuals with the blacklight on than without it on, at least in my room. Blacklights are nice. Another nice toy to have when your tripping is the laser balls that turn and put the different colored dots on your walls.

Hey Captain. I've been to the Funny Farm too. You're talking about the hostel at Interlocken right? Did you notice the size of their marjijuana plant by the office? The thing was friggen huge! : )

Its a funny story though, the first time i went there (wasnt staying there-just visiting a LOT (: ) one of the Canyoning guys was showing us around the place. It looked pretty kickass. THEN he shows us the garden. LOL... I was sold on that place from that moment on....

bulbs? what are you guys talking about. bulbs are fake, real blacklights come in tube form. so called black light bulbs are normal ones painted purple and they do have a blacklight effect but nowhere close to a tube. look around in your local nightclub.

ok obviously in the u.s people dont think it's necessary to make a difference between 2 completely different kinds of lamps, so forgive me for thinking you were talking about those ball like things when you might as well have meant the stick like things (*deep breath, wow big sentence*).

Yes this is a good point to make; blacklight bulbs are cheap and have little effect. The fluorescent bulbs (tube lights) are the kickass ones. A nice 48" fluorescent, strings of tiny blacklights (christmas lights) around the edges, and a plain blacklight bulb in the overhead light for an overall bonus....I love to trip in my room. :)

weird, i just saw that in a video in my physiology class. some guys were out in a desert in arizona with blacklights, hunting scorpions
