How long would one have to wait for honey water to start to show signs of colonization, in low temp envrionment?

anyone have a ball park estimate for me? :)

2-3 days in good conditions, so I guess 4-5 if you're not keeping it at optimal temperature.

What are you using to inoculate the honey water? Spores? With a piece of mycelia it'll go quicker.

A friend used the last cc of spore solution he recieved from THC.. I realize that a piece of mycelia would be better.. but my friend has none right now other then on his cakes.. would a pin work? what is the best part of a living shroom to use? I've heard of coreing it..

It gets trickier, contam-wise when using mycelia or a piece of shroom. But yes, a piece from inside the stem given a one minute bath in peroxide will work. This is cloning, you need to be super clean, as in glovebox clean.

thats cool.. I use a glove box anyhow..

whats the best method for coring the stem?

someone mentioned a syringe might work well.. I dunno about that.. but a sterile small metal tube seems like it might do the trick..
