My friend is considering traveling on an airplane and carrying some shrooms with him. How bad an idea is this? Does anyone know if dogs are trained to smell it? What are some good ways to hide it? I know this isn't a cultivation ? but this was the best category that fit. I think lots of people are curious about this same question. Anyone have any good/bad experiences travelling with them? Please let myself and everyone else know.

Put it in your pocket. Dogs aren't trained the smell mushrooms nor would they be able to tell the difference between store bought ones and psilocybe.

Be simple !
Buy dried shrooms in a store. Open the box, throw everything in it(or eat the dried shrooms), and put your own dried shrooms. Close the box. Put it in your bag with other things to eat, and that's it !

Air travel has gotton alot more risky since 9/11, so I would seriously think twice before doing anything like that. It really depends on where you are and what you look like. Stake out the airport and see how hardcore their security is. Then again, they may notice you're staking the place out and get you the next time you go in. It's all random chance.

The easiest no fail way to do it is to go to GNC and get your favorite herb in gelcap form. My friend usually gets kava kava. Take the kava kava out of the gelcaps and replace with crushed mushies. Then just put them back into the jar. Shake it up and you'll be fine. Even if they ask you about it they're not going to go through and test every pill. Then when your at your destination just go throught the pills and you'll be able to pick out the right ones. Works everytime.

When i graduated high school last year i went on a finalist trip. Some people went by bus and some people went by plane. I went by plane some of my friends who were going by bus carried our stash (70 grams of hash). when it was time to come back home we had still a lot of it. I had left my part of the remainder inside the pocket of one of my pants (i thought i had given the hash rock to my friends who came back by bus). When i got back home and undid the bags i found out i had brought something close to 10grams of hashish on my bag (10 grams of hash is much more than 10 grams of weed) in the airplane without knowing about it. There was another time when i carried 3 rolled joints in my tobacco box on a domestic flight. Maybe i was lucky, maybe the security at airports is not so good. However, i live in europe and when i went to the states the security seemed a lot tighter than here - they asked me lots of questions before i leave my country (like if i have ever experimented drugs, if everything i had on my bag was mine, if there was anything in the bag that had been borrowed by anyone lately, etc...) and when we got to the airport in the US my bag was sniffed by a couple of dogs.

How about other drugs? Sounds like my kinda question!
There are lots of ways to conceal things in situations like this
but my personal favorite is using ink drawing and writing pens. Ive tried a few different things in my day but found this to work the best for small amounts of my favorite treats. I would just take the inner workings out and refill with more desirable items if you know what mean!! I did this last year on a spring break trip to cancun with E and everything worked out fine, however if you are as foolish in taking risks like this as I have been in the past please make sure you are familiar with the laws of the country you are traveling to. Why is this important you might ask? In some countries you get sentenced to ridiculous amounts of time or even worse a life sentence or you could be put to death for what some would consider petty or trivial in U.S. or Canada A perfect example while we are on the subject is movie made in the early 80's called Midnight Express about an American college student who was traveling to turkey with a couple grams of hash and got busted. They charged him with possession of hash and gave him 5 years, then a few weeks before his release the authorities rethought thier case and decided that he was also attempting to distribute the drugs thus changing the sentence to life imprisonment. Intent on having his freedom back he murdered an abusive prison gaurd, stole his uniform, walked right out of the prison and escaped to nearbye greece. Cool thing is its a true story, no bullshit. To answer your original question:
Dogs do not sniff for shrooms. There are far too many types of mushrooms, and it's not a big enough problem in North America to be of any concern to the local police, customs, or the security at the airport. How do I know this? I happen to know someone who is a Canadian Customs Officer, and she owns and trains two drug-sniffing dogs, and Canada and the US follow the same training guidelines (and a lot of US customs dogs are trained in Canada).
Also, just as an interesting piece of information, nearly every single drug-dog is first trained with tennis balls, then moved on to different pseud-drugs. What does this mean? Well if you have tennis balls in your suitcase, chances are the dogs will go for them, either barking and pawing at your suitcase, or they'll sit by you, depending on if they were trained as "passive" or "active" dogs.
Also, if you're travelling across boarders, and you have any form of drug on you, Customs has the right to search you and your belongings without a warrant. All they need is "reason for suspicion". So be careful.
About hiding them, there are some really good ideas already posted, like hiding them in candles (jar of peanut butter works too...), but I really wouldn't try to hide anything in my shoes.

Remember that guy who tried to blow up the plane with the bomb in his shoe? Yeah, dumb idea. I think the best way to travel with shrooms is taking along a copy of psilocybin mushrooms of the world, or at least some photocopied pages of relevant psilocybes. I went from Canada to central america last year and back, and I wouldn't risk taking anything because of the rabid american security. Just Canada to CA without a stopover in the US and I'd feel better about it, but I still probably wouldn't. The only way I'd do it is send myself mushroom chocolate easter eggs ahead of time to a post office.

becareful bro i went to italy last summer.My flight arrived in the rome airport and as soon as got out of the plane was a drug sniffing dog that came to me right away to sniff me out.they also had dogs all over the airport baggage claim,bathrooms evreywere.

Stuff them into a balloon, tie it up tight with all the air sucked out of it, then jam it into a partially filled bottle of shampoo. Better to use a brand that you cannot see thru, like Head and Shoulders. Also better to use a bottle with a long neck to create shadows so that a quick look won't reveal a clear view of anything floating inside. You can even colour match the balloon with the shampoo for a camo effect. A super smarty pants might even glue a "false bottom" over the balloon. This would be done by rolling up a piece of thin plastic and inserting it into the bottle, then unrolling it and carefully gluing it over the balloon using bathtub caulking on the end of a chopstick or some sort of skewer.
Never use the battery bay in anything electronic!!!!! I've often been asked to turn something on to demonstrate that it works properly, like a camera or laptop. Unscrewing a videotape can provide some storage space too. Make sure you apply the stickers on the outside of 'em when you're done... to let the guard know what the video might be of...use your imagination...haha. He'll have your bag zipped up and back in your hot little hands before you can say " I'm a proctologist on a housecall."

hi there,
I know someone who works in the airline business.
as far as he told me, the drug dogs can sniff marihuana very well, he watched it happen, when they noticed a friend of him, who came from a trance party and had no marihuana left, only maybe tiny pieces of grass sticking somewhere on the inside of his pockets.
they did not bust him (didn?t find anything )
about cocaine I know pretty sure that they can screen for microscopic bits when they scan your passport. at least in europe they do so.
so you better don?t get anything in contact with your wallet( i know people who still spread lines with credit cards etc)
about mushrooms I don?t konw, a mushroom trained dog can probably smell it, too.
i will ask somebody of the security crew about it.
in eg a car, dogs can?t localize weed so well , when there is weed-smell everywhere in the car...

They can sniff out anything very easily, if they're trained for it. Dogs are usually trained to sniff out marijuana, cocaine, heroine, and firearms (gun oil and gunpowder).

Well I don't know how the security is in Europe, but if you have marijuana on you, a dog WILL sniff it out. It doesn't matter what you do to package/hide it, the dog WILL find it. In a case over hear, the Canadian Customs brought a dog in for a standard warehouse search, and as soon as the dog got inside, she ran over to other side, and started barking by a container. They searched the container, and found nothing. Then one of the customs agents noticed that part of the ceiling looked a bit "odd". In the ceiling they found 42 blocks of marijuana.
So from the complete other side of a warehouse full of containers, the dog sniffed out the marijuana that was hidden in a 12' ceiling.
Moral of the story: don't try to hide weed (or anything else for that matter) from a drug dog.
So if you're confident that there will be no dogs at either airport, have a lot of balls, then go for it, bring your stash with you. But I would recommend sending it through the mail instead, inside a jar of food or something, with no return address, so it can't get pinned on you.

Lsd is odorless, it is an exception to the rule. Scents from certain drugs can be masked, and they can be masked quite well. If you put your stash in a ziplock bag, and soak it in bleach, then another zip lock bag, then more bleach, then an envelope or something SUPPOSEDLY dogs will over look the contents. However, its not worth putting your freedom on the line for.

The last time I flew (we're talking america here), I was sat down and forced to remove my shoes. In front of everyone. They took them and checked inside, then individually beepy-wanded them before giving them back. Patted down my socks too. That time I didn't have anything on me, because the time before that I brought a bud in my cigarette pack and the army scared the living shit out of me. I mean, I've done some ballsy things, but guys with AK's all over the place is a little intimidating. I don't think they have that though.
Interesting note, when flying out of dallas at some ungodly hour of the morning, I accidentally had a glass pipe (weed) in my side pocket of my jeans. 
I got patted down, of course, and they found it, of course, but the security guy just sort of chuckled and told me to have a nice flight. My shit-brick stopped halfway out and I whistled all the way to my gate.
Both of these experiences happened this summer (july 2002).
Now I hear they make you open your checked luggage and they go thru it. Even make you open presents now that it's the holidays. Plus they xray shit, they tell you not to put film in your checked baggage because the stronger xrays will kill it.

Do not put this in your luggage. You will go to jail. I think that this holiday season it would be a major pain in the ass to miss your flight because you're in jail over trying to bring weed on an airplane.
Think about it. Where does every authority in america expect the Next Attack to come from? AIRPLANES. They are doing everything in their power to find what you don't want them to know that you have. Fuck bringing anything on airplanes. I'm not getting popped while traveling. And you shouldn't either.
How not to get caught? I have the secret. What you should do, and mind you, this won't work unless you have a willing party on the other end that you trust, is mail your drugs. I have done this. I know other people who have done this, and it has had a 100% success rate.
Once I mailed a box (post 9/11 mind you) that contained six ziploc bags and a couple of cd-r's, wrapped in a t-shirt. I prepared the weed (straight up NW sensi, some of the best shit you can buy anywhere in america, and stinky stinky) by putting it in a ziploc, and using a plastic straw to suck out the air. Then I put that in a bag, sucked out the air. Repeated four more times, but in the second to the last bag I put coffee grounds. then put that bag in one last bag and sucked out the air. Totally flat, oderless package. Wrapped it in a t-shirt, stuck it in a box and UPS'd it out. It got to my destination a day after I did, because I had to wait on the hookup, but it works. I hear USPS works too, and costs less than UPS, but to stay away from fedex.
Of course, don't mail this to your parents or something unless you're planning on sharing. I had a friend provide my delivery address, and I gave her a fat nug for the help out. Also, be cautious, of course, and don't be mailing pounds and pounds of the sticky all over the world - I do one ounce or less of chronic. Schwag is less stinky, so you can probably move more, but ech. I have never heard of this being done over international borders, and it probably wouldn't work, i'm assuming. This is just an advisory for our american readers who don't want to spend their holiday being interrogated about trafficking.

yo im greek. hehe. i go to greece every summer and i always take pot and shrooms with me. real easy. put em in a zip lock and stick em in with ure socks all roleld up and leave them in ure suitcase. unless u have liek an ungodly amount ure fine. even if customs opens ure shit, which has happend to me, u just go i got some clothes and rummage through it to show them thats all taht its ther they dont take ure whole bag apart they spend 10-15 seconds max looking at ure shit. and they only do that if u look suspicious. from my expirences though got 1/2 ounce weed and 1/2 ounce shrooms to greece no prob. 2 years in a row. customs in greece dont care dude.

I was thinking about posting something like this as in a few months, I am going to Cuba. I ma just getting plaster of paris and a few packs of reese peanut butter cups. I make a mold of the chocolates with the plaster, then when done I just put an empty wrapper in the mold(eat the chocolate) and make some mushroom chocolates. I freeze them, then I have perfect replicas of reese peanut butter cups. I would make sure the last package I opened, I did carefully so I could put the mushroom cups in there, and re seal it.

Two weeks ago, for Thanskiging, I went through two airports with a glass pipe, a quarter of shrooms, a pocket scale, and a vial of salvia. Not the tiniest problem. I wore boots that always set the metal detectors off, so they did the wand thing and checked my shoes both times. Don't hide anything in your shoes, don't dress like an Arab and don't do anything stupid and you should be fine.
