Leaving to cultivate
    #4803034 - 10/14/05 10:47 AM (19 years, 3 months ago)

I could prep the substrates today and put them in the right enviroment and be able to watch them for the first week. However i can't return to this house for a week cause im going on holiday after that, would it be dodgy/dangerous/bad to leave the jars unwatched for 1 week?

Thanks for the info

Pete

not at all, they like to be left alone anyway. the only problem could be if they are fully colonized and sit for an extra week, but even then its not that big of a deal. you shouldnt have any problems, except for the depression that sets in when you leave your babies for a while...

Depends on where you leave them. If its your house absolutely no problem. But if its at another location i personally wouldnt do it. Although i wouldnt grow at another location anyways so maby thats irrelivent info. But leaving them alone for a week never does any harm. They probably wont even be 100% colonized at that point.

i had to leave once for 2 weeks and this is what i did. i put each jar in a gallon ziplock bag and filled it with clean air. the reason i did this was incase a jar contaminate, so it wouldnt spread (good thing i did too cause one did). when i got back all my jars had stalled. then i opened the bag did a forced air exchange and everything was groovy. it was extreme paranoia but it worked

The jars will be fine. Just keep them in the dark so they don't pin prematurely. You've got some strange replies in this thread

Huh?

I'm guessing that your reply was to someone else.
