what are my shrooms doing??

ok. i spawned some wheat straw with rye grain about 10 days ago, i was waiting for the grain to colonize and i was going to case it with 50/50. i was keeping it covered with a black garbage bag and i have an air pump but it isn't hooked up yet. well i checked them today and there were a shitload of skinny-ass shrooms growing. why? how? should i attempt to case it after i pick off everything? also... the caps are very black and inky, i think nits the spores... but they're still ok right? they are lipa yais and they don't look like the pictures that i've seen.

I think that caseing is over-hyped. I have seen some awesome crops grown on pasterlized straw that were NEVER cased. When the mycelum grew deep enough the 'shrooms started poping just as fast, if not faster, than caseing.... However most share a diferent point of view. But, one thing is for sure, you dont have to cover the substrait (straw) with shit to make 'em fruit. It just takes longer to get to this point.
